I buy a lot of stuff of e-bay. If they are not honest, there is recourse against them.
My brother bought a truck off e-bay.

Many bargains can be found on eBay and it can be a safe place to buy from. Most sellers are honest and want to make sure you are satisfied with the product you buy. When a sell is done the buyer is asked to rate the seller. A buyer can research the seller prior to purchasing a product. I have been told that a purchase bought with a credit card using pay pal is the safest way to go. The seller will not be able to see your credit card number through pay pal. Bad sellers are few and can be kicked off of selling on eBay. One thing to look out for is scams asking for pass code information via email. This happens with both pay pal and eBay. These companies will never ask you to give credit card numbers or pass codes via email. I have purchased several items off of eBay and have never had a bad experience.

Bingo! You hit the nail on the head. How can you tell if they're honest? There's no guarantee, but look for sellers with good feedback ratings, and read the negative feedback if there is any.
You take a chance when you buy through eBay, just do your homework on the seller and try to protect yourself.

Be carefull. If its advertised as new and fairly expensive make sure its got a guarantee or warranty.Ive been caught with things arriving and not working properly and you've got no backup. No trading standards on Ebay. The item might look like a bargain but cheaper is not always better and you can end up with seconds or rubbish. You can you usually get a good idea from feedback, check out any negative feedback before you by.

If you find the exact item you want, view the sellers feedback and if its good, then they are good sellers. You can find very very cheap prices and its not that they are going to rip you off but that they have no use for that item or a lot of that item so they sell it for cheap. You can also talk to sellers.

I would like to think that most people are honest. They are just trying to make a buck.
Come to think of it, a lot of the stuff on E-Bay has been stolen. I think I read somewhere that E-Bay is the biggest fence going.
But yet, I still have faith in the good of man.
Good luck. Oh yeah, pay by Paypal so you don't get ripped off, just in case.

you have to careful. sometimes, when u see something you want to buy, on the page, it'll say, "What you see is what you get". Be careful about that, cuz they might jus send u a picture of the item that u thought u were buying.
