Hypethetical Question - Wouldn't be surprised if it happened though.
We wake the day after the elections and one of our new President's first orders is that all Bibles need to be turned in and destroyed. If you are caught in posession of a Bible the penalty will be death. What will you do?
1) Disobey the mandate, keep your Bible, and risk death.
2) Obey the Authorities and turn in your Bible.
3) Do something else.

They might take the Bible in my hand but they can't take it out of my heart God writes his word on the fleshly tablets of the heart his word will always be with me.

I'm not Christian, but I would keep my bible. If a similar order were given for the Joy of Cooking, I'd keep that one, too.
Where does this question come from? It smells like you're trying to create paranoia over the idea that such an order could possibly be given and taken seriously. What's going on here?
1) You're trying to encourage people to reflexively vote for the proudest Bible-wielding candidate, in order to protect liberties that aren't threatened
2) You're just asking oddball hypothetical questions for the fun of it
3) Something else.

Not an American (thankfully) and not a Christian (so no need of the bible). But it shouldn't actually be much of an issue. The bible is a bunch of words strung together to help you understand the word and intentions of the Christian god, not do the work for you. It's supposed to assist you, you really just need to be able to pray and commune with your god that way.

the world is changing, for the better not the worse... it's in christian tradition to command or make law something like this.... What I would do is not wait for the president to make law.... (laws should be there to protect against things like witch burnings and such...) I would invite everyone to an anual bible burning celebration.... see no law no government needed and in the spirit of nature, voluntary action.... you'd get more bibles burned that way than any other.... and hey it could be started today or any day... something anyone can do at anytime....

I would turn in most of my Bibles, but keep one small one hidden. If all the Bibles were taken, I would get working on writing down what scripture I had memorized.

Though I would be ecstatic in this incredibly low-probability, paranoia-motivated scenario of yours, I would willingly give up my Bible, but protest the government's taking of other people's Bibles in that it is barring the right of people to free practice of their religion (no matter how much they deserve it).

You "wouldn't be surprised" if this happened??
What in the world are you basing that on? Our recent history of non-christian presidents?
Wow. What a bizarre pov.

I wouldn't have a Bible, I'm an atheist. I wouldn't mind them destroying bibles.
