Hey sweetie. I had the same problem with my beard, I had the stylist trim the bottom 1/2 inch off, and I use leave in conditioner every morning.

Section your hair & pin up each section while it is dry. Take each section & twist it. The split ends will stick out. Use a small pair of scissors to trim them off.

Some tips for preventing split ends:

Do not brush your hair while it is wet. Hair is the most prone to stretching and breaking while it is wet.

After you shampoo, apply conditioner & then gently comb out your hair with a wide tooth comb before your rinse out the conditioner. Run water through your hair gently - don't swirl it & twist it. Then gently gather sections to squeeze out the water.

Use a super absorbent microfiber towel to press the remaining moisture in your hair after you get out of the shower. Spray on a leave in conditioner & comb out your hair again w/ a wide tooth comb if necessary. Start at the bottom & work your way upwards to remove any tangles.

The microfiber towel is more absorbent than a conventional terry cloth towel so it will help your hair air dry faster. It will also reduce the time needed to blow dry your hair.

Only brush your hair while it is dry & use brushes w/ smooth tipped bristles that are widely spaced to avoid tearing your hair.

i heard that if you take about an inch or so of hair you just twist the piece of hair and then point the piece of hair towards your face and all of the hair that goes away from the chunk of hair you should trim at an angle... idk if it works or not but i just ususally take a chunk of hair and go down it and cut off any split ends i see
