I've heard that the Rosetta Stone system works really well. I'm going to try it myself. I'm also in Florida and you definitely need to learn Spanish here lol.

The quickest way is to go there and be immersed in the language. I learned all my spanish through studying abroad in Spain and other countries. However, are you already immersed in it and thats why you need to learn? lol...either way people and pure interaction are the key. If you have NO experience with the language and its grammar then it is good to take classes so that you get the basics down pat, but also concentrate on getting help from people who speak it as their first language. So hook up with Paco and trade off some english/spanish lessons! (thats not a racist comment!) ;)

I recently married into an Egyptian family, I couldn't understand anything, I was feeling that maybe they might be talking about me, some times they would look at me when they were talking. I started trying to find a way to learn Egyptian Arabic, as it is some what different from Arabic in general. I found a program called the Pimsleur approach, it's what the FBI uses to learn a language fast, not only will you learn it fast, but you wont have a strong accent. My family ask me to speak to them in Arabic all the time they cant believe i haven't spoken it all my life! just try it you can do it! I learned to speak almost fluently in about three months. The program comes on C.D. It's allot of listening to and repeating at first then you listen to actual conversations, you'll be amazed how fast you get it! Good Luck!
