Cat Vaccination Schedule


8 weeks to 1 year



8 weeks - First vaccination shot (FVRCP).

12 weeks

Feline Leukemia shot (FeLV) (only if pretest is negative). A second (FeLV) shot given 2 to 3 weeks later. Second vaccination shot (FVRCP).

4 months

Rabies and third vaccination shot (FVRCP).





Adult Cats

FVRCP

Yearly. Cats 13 weeks or older that have not been vaccinated should have an initial vaccine then a booster in 2 to 4 weeks.



FeLV

Yearly. Cats not previously vaccinated need the two injection series (only if pretest is negative).



Rabies

Yearly (depending on vaccine and state requirements)

Now is probably a good time. Animal rescue places usually adopt out their animals with most of their vaccines around 10 weeks, or 2.5 months. There are a few vaccinations that kitty will have to wait for, though. Go ahead and take kitty to the vet once you have her - she should have a general check up, anyway.

I have a puppy that is 8 months old, and we got her vaccinated at 6 months. I heard vaccinations can sometimes be the same for puppies and kittens, so i think 6 months old will be okay. But just in case, ask your vet to be sure. :]

take it in when you get it and then make arrangements for spaying/neutering when the vet feels the time is best. I know you plan on keeping it indoors, but sometimes cats get out, and you dont want it to either get pregnant or cause one in that event.

Contact your vet right away. He will probably want to check out the little guy and then will be able to get you on track with all the shots.

Im thinking that you should take it to vaccinate as soon as you get it, but it depends if he alredy has
