I always give a valet about $2 for a tip. They don't tend to expect much more than that. If they went out of their way to take special care of your car, or if they parked it in a specially requested spot, give them more, but $2 is the standard tip.

It depends on the restaurant of course (pricier restaurants call for pricier tips), but I usually give about $2. For a really nice place, maybe up to $5, but I wouldn't go higher than that.
