Couples usually pick their wedding bands together. Since he is long distance ask him what he likes or show him a couple pics of ones you like and see which one he prefers.

If there are children in your wedding, someone other than their parents should pay for their outfits. This is because children grow fast and don't dress up often, and so they will only be able to use these wedding clothes once. Your bridesmaids pay for their own dresses and shoes and hair, but you should make sure that you choose dresses that they can afford. When I was a bridesmaid, the bride was sweet enough to have us get them at David's Bridal during a special sale week where the bridesmaids dresses were $100 each and the $30 shoes were dyed to match for free. The bride also deliberately chose dresses that complimented us all and would stay in style for a while so that we could all wear them again, and we all REALLY appreciated that. I wore mine twice after that, including one time that another one of the bridesmaids also came to the event wearing the dress and nobody even noticed that we were wearing the same dress because we'd accessorized them completely differently. Gosh, that was a great dress. There was another sale going on at the same time where they'd take $100 off your wedding gown if you bought a certain number of bridesmaids gowns on the same day, and so the bride ended up saving a ton of money on her gown, too. The bride and groom usually give small thank-you gifts to all the members of their bridal party, and all of us bridesmaids received matching necklaces that we wore in the wedding. It was another nice way that the bride and groom thought ahead to cut back on expenses for everyone.

Traditionally, the man's ring is a gift from the bride. The bride's ring is a gift from the groom. They are actually the only part of the wedding that is not traditionally paid for by the parents. But that's just the tradition. Most people pick them out together so they coordinate/look nice together and suit each person's taste.

Either way is fine, as long as both of you are okay with it. Many couples want matching bands, and so they will go pick them out together. Or if your man has an opinion on what style/color/metal he'd like, you should involve him in the process.
In my case, the only stipulation my fiance has is that he doesn't like yellow gold. Other than that, I'm free to choose whether I want to buy white gold, silver, titanuim, etc. I know he would much rather have a plain band, so that is what I'm getting.

Usually couples pick them out together. Since he is long distance you should pick some you like and send him the pics. That's what I did with my fiance who is in another country. i already knew he wanted white gold or platinum and knew he didn't want anything big or flashy. I found a beautiful platinum band with diamonds inlaid and scattered all over the band. Amazingly it was his favorite of all the ones I picked out.

well my husband and I went shopping together for our rings. in your case, I would wait until he comes to see you or you go to see him. you must be getting together at some point between now and the wedding to do plans and things. you need to know his ring size and he needs to try it on to make sure he likes it. if you absolutely cant get together then I would get him to go to a store where he is and get his ring size and give you an idea of what he likes, then you can pick somehting out.

I'm taking my fiance shopping for one. I want to make sure it's something we both like, even though I will be paying for it. I want to make sure they get his finger sized properly as well. You may have to send your fiance to a jewelry store and have him sized correctly and tell him to browse some styles while he's there. Then you can go and get him one on your own but you'll have some idea of what he likes.

Since he is the one who will be wearing the ring, I'd suggest you find out what he likes and get his opinion.
You say he is long distance... perhaps the next time he is in your area you can go shopping? Otherwise, I would send pictures.
Congratulations and good luck!

you can give him suggetionsbuy showing him pictures of rings you'd think he'd like, but ultimately it should be his decision. He's the one that has to wear it everyday. If he truly doesn't care what you pick out, then you can go ahead and buy one.
