I am in need of food ideas for my 13 month old son. Some of the food he currently eats cheese, grilled cheese, hot dogs, bananas, ravioli-meat and cheese, meatballs, pasta however I'm in need of new ideas for him. He's very picky (a surprise for this age right?!). I can't get him to eat veggies or fruits..any suggestions on things that worked with your little one I would greatly appreciate it..along with simple food ideas.

for the person who gave the rudest response ever that I'm already feeding my son such unhealthy foods..pasta and such and he will face obesity. You should NOT be answering questions. As a matter of fact my son is FAR from obesity with only being 18 lbs at 12 1/2 months old. Both my husband and I are not OBESE (I weight 110 and husband 140) and eat the same amount of pasta..it's called working out. Goodness I can't believe people can be so RUDE when all I was in need of were more suggestions!

what veggies have you tried? if the eats meatballs and you make them yourself but a green beans in the middle or dice up the green beans. every time you make them add more green beans to the mix. then by no time he will be eating veggies and meat and not know it. do that with water he eats. make a veggie lasagna with a little bit of meat on the side.

He is not eating any veggies or fruit because you are already giving him the wrong foods. He is eating WAY too much pasta for a 13 month old and if you keep giving him the wrong nutrition he will grow up unhealthy and face obesity.

Mix any veggie with applesauce. Any child likes apple sauce.

Mix berries with the banana, then start taking the nana out so he can appreciate the taste of fruit. Fruit is also a great alternative to candy and sweets. Strawberries, peaches, plums, grapes (cut them into 4ths), and apples.

Stop giving your 13 month old ravioli. What? My son was two before he tasted something so processed and unhealthy. I give him something like that maybe 3-4 times a month. (He is almost 3, now). Last night my son had collard greens, wheat rice and salsberry steak. For dessert, sugar free pudding, which, imight add, taste just as good as the ones with sugar in it.

Also, get some Pediasure. This will endure that he is getting the right amnt of vitamins until you can start feeding him right.

Put cheese on veggies everything is better with cheese. My six year old is a picky eater especially at that age. When he was that age he did not like veggies now he is opposite he is picky about meat.Seems we can never win.Another food my kids love is pigs in blanket except how I make them is with crescent rolls cut in half and roll little smokie sausages and strips of cheese in them. Then bake by instructions on crescent roll package.

If this has been going on for several days you need to take him to the doctor or the emergency room. Is he taking fluids; if he has been throwing up for three or four days and not taking fluids he will become dehydrated and that too is dangerous. You need to be safe not sorry and take him to the ER. And in response to SJ's MOSTWA Pedialyte is non nutritional. Itreplaces fluids and other chemicals lost during the dehydration caused by illness and or fever.

i have always fed all my kids whatever it was we were having for dinner. my kids always like veggies though. one thing all my kids like is just browning up some hamburger meat and making a pot of mac and cheese then mixing all together. its not the healthiest but all of them love it including my 16 month old.
