My favorite host on the Food Network is definitely Alton Brown--great sense of humor, good food, hugely informative, and the production values on his show are fantastic. I also like Mario Batali (recently ate as his restaurant Del Posto, and his food really is as amazing as it looks).

In order to be a chef, you need to have gone to culinary school. Because of this, I'd say my favorite CHEF is Emeril. However, my favorite "cooker girl" is Rachael Ray.

Alton Brown, hands down. Instead of just cooking the food and telling me to do something he tells me why what I need to do in the recipe works. And he makes it entertaining. I've learned quite a lot since watching Good Eats that I now use in my own cooking.
