okay for those of you who already answered let me add a little of my thoughts...

The illegals are taking from our school systems and i wanted to know an amt. not a bunch of other things. i did ask for thoughts but no one gave me a ball park on an amt. ive heard it was 23 mill a day. And maybe they should take some of this money being spent on the war and improve mexico so the illegals will WANT to stay over there.

In its August, 2006 edition, 'American Prospect' magazine estimated the cost of the Iraqi war at $1.27 trillion. That's ONE MILLION DOLLARS A DAY for 3,487 years!!
Since then, the cost has escalated. Most recent estimates are that the Iraqi war is costing $12 billion a month. Add to that the cost of Homeland Security, interest on debt, and all the other costs associated with protecting us from 'terrorists', and you can see why analysts estimate that American taxpayers will owe TRILLIONS of dollars before all this mess ends.
The 'hidden costs' are those that the Bush administration refuses to publish in the federal government's budget. This is another multi-trillion-dollar debt that U.S. taxpayers will be paying off for generations to come. -RKO- 07/31/07

$2 billion a week.....more than all the social programs and domestic budget put together. It's mainly going to Halliburton who do not pay any taxes because their money is going to offshore accts. (very patriotic). Why did the republican congress turn down a democrat's proposal to not allow excessive profiteering as was done by the Truman bill of WW2,

I guess it depends on whether you really value your way of life and your safety. It's a stated goal of groups like Al Qaeda to do everything and anything possible to disrupt both... so do you think it's a good idea to fight them where they are, or turn tail and run and let them come here, instead? They've come here before... although many people seem to have forgotten that or don't seem to care. Ignoring them won't make them go away; it's been done before too.

Who cares. Bleat after me: "But the CONSUMER benefits".

Actually, I don't think we will ever know the costs. We pay for a large mercenary force, a high-paid combat force, we have some lazy-azz dead-beats working luggage scanners and a bunch of weird, secret prisons.

It really doesn't matter how much we are spending there. When was the last time we had a terrorist attack here? Isn't that a good investment?
