Butter Help?

I am making a white cake from scratch, and I needed shortening, but I decided to use butter. So the recipe called for 1/2 cup shortening, so I use 1 stick of butter right?

That's the right amount, but the cake won't turn out as fluffy and the texture will be kinda crispy. Watch for burning too

Yes but you are adding a little color.
