Watch what your dad eats or ask him what he ate to give him the bulk. Your diet and lifting will give you the bulk but you have to do it properly.

My husband has pictures of him from jr high and he was a skinny kid, then playing football and working out 6 days a week in high school he became very broad shouldered and more bulky. He still has the bulk even though he doesn't work out. People often say you look like you work out and he just laughs...

So my suggestion for you is to do the lifting and eat the protein...talk to your dad about it.

Boy's usually continue to grow untill they are about 21, so you still have a lot of growing to do before you get too worried about remaining skinny.. I know many 14 yr. old's that weigh much less than you & much shorter. You should be careful about lifting weights, make sure you know how to do this correctly or you could damage your back & other areas you could develop a hernia.

It's tough being a teen, especially with a dad that is a linebacker & most likely bulked.. You & /or other people may think you should follow in your dad's foot steps, don't let anyone pressure you to be anything other than what you want & be proud of that. During the teen years you will go through many changes but weight will not make you anything but fat..

What I'm trying to say, you ask if you would gain more weight as you continue to grow ,or something of that order, right? You will gain some weight & if you eat junk food all you gain is fat, which in turn makes you unhealthy..The weight you need will come slow as you get older & become a man ..By the time you are 16, you may have your height, so try not to go too fast with this, in the end you will reap the rewatds..: )

Start drinking some milk every day [a must} continue with your weights but make sure you know what your doing, ask your dad? You don't need to be too tall for football {if that's what you want?} but true you do need to be able to carry weight, not fat!

You are just about average for your height and weight, but at 14 you still have some growing to do. If you want to gain weight eating ice cream and bananas will help you. Sugar and fats will make you put on weight. But too much sugar is not good for anyone.
Maybe you will stay thin and get tall and then play basketball. Or become an Olympic swimmer, runner or on a rowing team. Maybe being a foot ball player is not in your cards, but maybe a soccer player is.
Good luck.

You are relatively slim because of the age you're at and your genetics. More than likely, if you were to eat like a slob until you were 22, you would start gaining weight for your metabolism would subside and you would be "normal"...like everybody else lol :). But since that isn't healthy, and you care about your body, here is what you actually do, keep lifting weights...that builds muscle obviously. For best weight lifting...do three sets of 20 and increase each set by 10 lbs. For small reps with heavier increasing weight bulks muscle...not making it lean. (I wouldn't recommend this to a woman:)). Lastly, increase your daily intake of calories over 55. Or 3,500 every week. It takes 3,500 calories to gain a lb. I recommend you only gain about 2-3 lbs per week...and make these healthy calories!!!!!!! Lean meat, nuts, peanut butter...tuna...egg whites. For if you eat poorly you will get burned out and sick!!!! If you do as I say chico...you will get fit...bigger and muscular..:) Good luck and trust me:)

Just keep lifting and make sure you eat the right foods, plenty of protein, and make sure you're doing the exercises correctly and on the right schedule, like 3 days a week for a full body workout. Plus, your metabolism slows down as you age so you'll gain weight naturally.

you are 14 years old and your body is still developing you will have give it some time and you will get there. You just don't get big in a few weeks and so eat healthy and do major calisthenics because once your body fills out everything else will fall in line.

Try working out more, and add more calories in your diet. But get those extra calories from whole grains and lean meats. If you work out and eat more healthy proteins, you will gain some muscle mass in no time. TRy protein shakes too. They work and taste good!

seems pretty normal to me. I was 6'2" in junior high and weighed 155. that was skinny. Your weight should catch up to your height soon enough. Keep working out and stay fit.
