Have you considered Chattanooga? It makes more sense than Atlanta for a few reasons...we don't have ad Valium tax on our car tags, so it's only 24 bucks to renew your car tag, we don't require emission testing either, the property taxes on your house would be way cheaper and we don't pay state income tax out of paycheck. There are plenty of jobs here but the wages are lower because of the lower cost of living. The traffic in Atlanta will make you scream..it is a buyers market in Chattanooga. We got our 5 bedroom with 1 acre for 75,000. If you really feel the need to visit Atlanta, it is just a short drive from Chattanooga. I've lived in Atlanta..nice city ..but too busy for me. I love it in Chattanooga. The mountain views are awesome..don't even need to go to Gatlingburg when you have mountains in your own backyard

I just moved to GA from WI last December. I live in Stockbridge which is just south of Atlanta (about 20 miles). My fiance and I both found good job very quickly. I am less then a year out of college and he is a little over a year, but we were still able to easily afford a very nice 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car garage, house in a good neighborhood. The cost of living is low and I believe Atlanta was ranked in the top 10 cities for young people to live. Good job market, good night life...traffic...ehhh not great but a lot better than people lead you to believe. Plus Florida is full of old people but GA is still close enough to go to Florida for vacation!

Kennesaw, Ga is literally 20 minutes outside of Atlanta. There are many things to do here and it is a great place for people in their mid twenties. The job market is fantastic in and around the area. The houses are beautiful and townhomes are popular here.

I use to live in Augusta, GA and I loved it there. It has a low cost of living, the neighborhoods there are nice but it can depend on what part of Augusta you choose, and there is a good job market. We are now living in a town outside of Augusta but we are planning to buy a house there. Augusta is about 150 miles from Atlanta.

I haven't ever lived in Jacksonville, but due to my hubby and I being college football freaks, we are there a lot for the gator bowl and I absolutely hate it. I can't imagine living there. We have traveled all over and that would be the last place I would want to live.

We relocated from Arizona to Charleston, SC last year (stationed here). The cost of living and extras are pretty close to that of Arizona.
