Anglesey in North Wales has great beaches and can be used as a base to explore North Wales.
The Llyn Peninsula is likewise good.

It depends on where you are starting from but I would say - near to Robin Hood's Bay (unless you are the Sheriff of Nottingham of course!) -

Best wishes,

Edit - Alright me oconnell and Colin stand admonished ! - Go to Blackpool then with all the others - seriously Wales has some good quiet ones - look them up for yourself - Tenby I have heared is nice but perhaps that is too far too?

Edit - I have heared Dorset is nice too if you are in the South.
