If they have no health problems earlier, they can reach 20-22. This is an equivalent of a human reaching 95-100. rare, but it happens. Usually, just like humans can have cancer or sth. else and die around 80 (which is not too early, but not too late either), cats often die around 15-17 years old.

I had a cat that died at 26. But he did not die of old age or ill health. He was in the garage climbing and a heavy piece of wood feel and hit him on the head. Bless!! But the average age for a cat to live to is 15. I dont know if the sex of the cat contributes in any way tho!!!

Some cats have lived into their 30s,but is very rare
The average age for well-cared for house cats is around 15 years old.
Altered cats generally tend to live longer than those who have not been spayed or castrated

Diet - An older cat may benefit from the following changes to his dietary regime:

Less calories when he becomes less active. You should weigh your cat regularly, and if his weight begins to creep up, cut back on his foods accordingly.
A more palatable diet (for example: warmed, moist foods), because of his decreased senses of smell and taste.
Avoidance of excess protein, phosphorus and sodium, increased amounts of vitamins A, B1, B6, B12, and E, and extra unsaturated fatty acids and zinc are nutritional modifications considered appropriate for older cats. Your veterinarian will assist you in providing a high-quality diet for your ageing cat.

Most housecats live about 15-20 years. There isn't much difference between male or female; it's more about their health and lifestyle. If he stays indoors all the time he's safer than if he runs around outside, and is likely to live longer.

Talk with your vet - if your cat is currently in good health he may be around for quite awhile. But if he's beginning to develop any serious conditions you might need to start looking ahead.

Gender doesn't matter, lifestyle, weight, and health are what matter. Cats can live up to 20 years but the average is between 14-18 years. Keep your cat healthy and it will live longer.

The most common cause of death in geriatric cats is Kidney failure. And there is not much you can do about that. Reasonable life expectation is betweeen 15-18. Its above average to get 19-23+. So just give lots of love and care!

A healthy cat who is at an ideal weight can live well into his/her teens. You can't control whether your cat develops a disease or cancer, so it doesn't matter if you have a male or a female cat; a well-loved housecat can live many years.

I've been a cat owner for many years, and many of my neutered male cats developed kidney problems and died due to many years of not drinking enough water. Cats don't crave water as dogs do. I would recommend any cat owner to buy one of those Drinkwell Pet Fountains. My cats love it, and they drink about 1 quart of water a day.

if he's fixed, he may live around 20 years, barring extreme health issues left untreated. i adopted a geriatric cat that the vet guessed was about 15 and had untreated hyperthyroidism. we put him on meds & he lasted another 4 yrs, would have been longer but he'd been untreated for quite a while.

around the age of twenty. My grandmother's cat lived to the age of twenty-two. It varies with the aid of the breed of the cat, and different issues. however the common age that a healthful cat often lives to is twenty years old.
