God is evil. He made a tree, said don't eat it, put it in plain sight with neon signs pointing at it. Then he kicked them out, sends people to hell, floods the planet, smites people on a regular basis.

Come on, the amazing thing with the Abrahamic god is that there is any good in this world.

You know it really amazes me how someone will ask a question & then turn around & tell people how to answer it, Well The answer is because there is also a devil, Now you want to argue the fact that God is greater then satan, That is true, But let's see when God will bound satan & there will be no more hatred during this time. In Revelation Chapter 20 speaks of when God will bound satan for 1000 yrs. There will be no desire to sin & there will be peace, Now after that 1000 yrs is up, Yes satan is loosed for just a little season, do you know why, Because everyone born in the milliennium has to be tested also, but before satan can cause any trouble God takes satan, hell & all the wicked & cast them all into the lake of fire. Now doesn't that show how much greater God is then satan.

So that all may learn not to blaspheme. All has been born into the womb at birth so that all may learn not to blaspheme. That includes you
Notice how people ask questions, and look at the responses that are given. Some are sincere with their answers, yet there's many who are rude and corrupted with their answers. Think: Which of the people who answers would you allow into your kingdom. Would you not weed out the bad and allow the good. Those who are bad, are humorous, yet they are unaware that their own actions are seriously counting against them.
You have all of theses media type sources, so that people can really see each others behavior, so that in due time the people may see why they have failed and are not ready for God's son in the last days.
When it's time for God's son to lift out those who are to be lifted, then who will honestly be left to be lifted?
Now, why would I say when it's time for his son to lift up those to be lifted, and not mention the return part? looks like I left out the return part. Maybe I didn't leave out the return part because he has already returned to the earth and just waiting till it's that time too do the lifting.
OH, I just realized that people are still waiting to see his return through the clouds riding a white horse w/ a sword. Wouldn't that be a sight to see. to see him return the way the false preachings teach (Oh, pardon me, I just realized you people are convinced that the false priest you hear are not false at all) Boy oh boy, if he would return the way the preachers preach, then he wouldn't be like any other man, now would he. Doesn't the bible warn that there'll be nothing special about him, that he'll be just like any other man. People will see him as if he's just another one of them? Yes the bible does say that.

As always the christnuts fall all over themselves to post 'free will' or 'sin is mans fault' several hundred times. Howerver these answers are insufficient

If you accept that god is all powerful and all knowing then it follows that he would be aware of the amount of sin that would result from his creation yet he decided to create it anyway.

The response to this is that'god loves us too much to deny our free will' however, seeing as how much suffering results from evil, isnt that like saying that god loves your suffering?

Now the bible tells us that sin resulted from things going on in the garden of eden, however anyone with some semblance of a brain knows that basic evolutionary bilogy and geology are clear indications that the garden of eden never existed and therefore neither did adam and eve, making the entire genesis story complete worthless bunk.

which brings us back to the question why is there evil? and why do we suffer? well if adam and eve didnt exist it certanly cannot be because of original sin now can it?

If god really existed, and really loved us beyond measure horrble things like earthquakes, typhoons, hurricans and volcanoes would not exist.

You cannot reconcile suffering and evil, whether it be from natural disasters or from mankind, with the existence of an all powerful and all-benevolent god. The concept of hell is even incompatible with such a diety. An all loving god would not burn and torture people he loves for eternity. Neither would he impose on them the horrors we experience on our world today.

There's always been evil in the world. Even when you look at the past 2000 years or so, there was always a war, a crazy power addicted freak killing somewhere. You just know about it all because of the internet, news ect. Look at the wars in history, and read some of the stories about past kings, there have always been f***** up folks.

If you want the religious answer....doesn't it have something to do with Eve eating the forbidden fruit and everyone suffering for those sins?

because not only would it be weird having no evil but the whole balance of the world would be all out of wack. And i don't think normal people would be able to cope with that perfect world. I'm not religious cause i don't like the idea of those kinds of beliefs. People will kill and die for beliefs and you can't change a belief but ideas, I don't believe in god but I have a good idea. and its kinda nice to think that there is a supreme being out there that shifts and sways the world to make it better or worse. and you may not like it but, What kind of world would it be if you didn't have evil? think about that before you go to bed tonight.

Yes God is a greater being, but the devil is the reason there is so much evil. That and freewill. The fact that God lets us choose good or evil.

without evil how would we know what good was?

Good and Evil is a human cognitive invention that reflects the feelings of altruism that are innate in all humans, except psychopathic persons, and many animals.

The God of the Bible has no qualms in performing evil acts, acts that any person of average moral propensity would readily call evil, and is clearly intending there to be evil in the world.

If you believe in the Holy Bible, then you believe that God has predestined for you a fate, before even the moment of conception, created to do good, or as it may be destined for eternal damnation, with no way of averting it, even through good works.

If you believe in the All-Powerful, All-Knowing God then you cannot believe in freewill!

If God knows EVERYTHING then he must know you, your past and future, your moment of conception your expiry date and where you are destined. Since, therefore he has in effect chosen you by creating you, knowing, and presumably facilitating, your every move. Then it follows that your actions are "foreseen" by him, evil and all, it then raises the rather uncomfortable question of why he allows you to do that which he has condemned AND ALREADY KNOWS YOU WILL DO!

Since you cannot deny that God is a doer of all he intends:

Hence we must conclude that he is a sadist, creating beings only in order to cause pain to them.

We cannot blame God for the evil in this world. God saw everything what He's made, and it was very good (Gen. 1:31). How did it go bad? the serpent, the devil, made it bad.. Actually he's the one who should be blamed. I'm sorry, I have to say it..

A lot of believers will say that it is not god's fault but humans fault for sinning against god.

But I find that a poor and sad excuse for things like babies being born with cancer and birthdefects. If I do something bad then I might deserve to be punished but does a new born baby deserve to have cancer because Adam and Eve ate the apple ?

Sheeshhhhh ...
