I would be your friend and I would ask you how things are there since the Taliban fell. I would ask you what you think of American's being over there.....I would ask you all kinds of questions.

If you came up to me and said that then it would be an interesting fact.

The fact that you are face to face with the person greatly increases your humanity in the eyes of the person so that where you came from would create minimum prejudice.

I have not personally met any one from Afghanistan, which is a shame.

I have Afghani friends already. There are several families from Afghanistan that go to the same mosque as my hubby & kids.

My daughter's best friend is an Afghani girl named Zainab.

I would think you're from afghanistan, because that's where you said you're from. And since I'm not your friend now, I couldn't possibly 'still' be your friend, but I wouldn't stop myself from becoming your friend. Also, if you already were my friend I would have known where you were from.

Yup.
And I would immediately have about 1 billion questions about what it is like to live in Afghanistan.

Of course. Afghanistan people are not criminals. What is their crime? Why would you think it would be a reason to stop being friends with someone because you found out they where Afghan?

I would think you were from Afghanistan. As far as being your friend, it depends on who you are as a person not where you are from.

Yep, I would want to have a long talk with you about the life you have lived. It amazes me that people can live through trauma, and strive to carry on, and quite often do better in life than those of us who are "handed everything on a silver platter."

I wouldn't think anything except I wonder what it was like for you to live there. Then I would ask you. I would never NOT be someones friend just because of where they were from.
