This morning, my husband, my son and I, took my daughter to catch the train. She joined the Job Corp and she will be gone for 6 month's to a year. (depending on how fast she works) I really broke down crying at the train station and even more, when she boarded the train. Although I am proud of her, I miss her terribly already and coming home to see her room literally empty, didn't help matters. How do I deal with this, I miss her so much? Not only is she my daughter, but she's also my best friend. I will say, i'm very thankful, that she's only 3 hours away from us, as far as the distance goe's.

Someone mentioned that they thought my daughter had passed away, just by the way, this question is worded, so I apologize if some of you see it that way, that wasn't my intentions, to make it seem like she passed on.

I feel your pain... I cried the 1st day of kindergarden, middle school, high school, college and now he moved to fla. it is so hard to let go of your child, but it seems as though you have done a very good job. just think of all she will have to tell you when she calls (although calls are very hard to)
enjoy the time to come. you did a good job mom.

I would suggest getting a full time job or get really involved in volunteering. I think her being only 3 hours away will make it very easy for you to visit her. You could also get a webcam for her computer (if she has one) and yours and you'd be abe to see her everyday. I really think you shouldn't let her know what a mess you are. I'm sure it's very hard on her also but its only for a short time. Stop going into the empty room and it'll only make things worse. Honestly when I read your headline I thought your daughter had passed. Think positive and come up with affirmations to help you get through this..
