Oh, my goodness... What in the world is the problem here? All you people talking about how kids hear this on tv... How many of you can truthfully stand up and say that you have never ever said a curse word in front of a kid? I mean really now!!! And as for the favorite un curse word for me was "fricking or Flipping"depended on where I was using it!! Tony is Tony!! You either love him or you don't. But, don't try to make more out of something than was there! bullship... Geez, someone who is suppose to be the spokes person for a Childrens organization "Victory Junction Gang Camp" said something I believe was much much more offensive than Sh*t could ever be! And why might I ask is crap not considered a bad word? It means the same thing? NASCAR has gotten a bit more leinient on the content because they said the networks are not as strict as they were a few years back or at least TNT wasn't?

I don't think that any of these guys, in any sport, set out to be role models. A lot of them have no interest in that anyway. I remember Charles Barkley saying he was not a role model and kids should not look at him that way. He was very honest about that and I appreciate it.
Parents have the duty to be their children's role model, not some guy on TV that has a flash of temper when some idiot sticks a microphone in his face after a wreck or losing a close race.
Not a huge Smoke fan, but he is a good driver and no one can dispute the good that Kyle Petty has done with the Victory Junction Gang.
Bottom line, these guys are human, just like us, and have good and bad days. Give them a break!

And so the nit picking begins. I for one see nothing wrong in what Tony did. He expressed himself as he always has, blunt and to the point. But while it wasn't neccessary, it was definetly a breath of fresh air from the stale routine NASCAR has turned victory lane into. While I'm not a huge Stewart fan, I love the fact that he goes against the grain. He has the gumption to question NASCAR, call out other drivers....even if he happens to stick his foot in his mouth. Apparently when Tony got into Cup, someone forgot to make him sign his role model clause? I for one am gald he doesn't conform.
And as far as if my child heard Tony swear, I'd sit him down to the side and explain to him why its wrong. You know, be responsible and do some actual parenting. In any case, I've heard (and seen) far worse from prime time telvision then to be bothered by a quick obscenity.

My goodness this is Tuesday let it go.
You or I or anyone here are going to do anything about it.
It was on a cable channel not one of the big three public networks.
Put the 7 second delay on the interviews would be good for your fragile ears.
My guess is if you listen to the kids playing in the back yard you might hear a few words you thought they didn't know too. And I'm not talking about Bull ship either.
Get a life and grow up. Worry about what you let your kids watch and don't worry about what my kids are doing OK.?

1) It's ESPN, not TNT
2) There's a difference between "bullsh*t" and "f*ck".
That being said, I fully expect some sort of monetary fine on him.
And Rick - nice try. No, he didn't say "bullship". If he had, ESPN wouldn't have bleeped it in the replay of the interview.
By the way, on NASCAR.com:
At the same time, I realize that Bad Tony is part of Stewart's competitive personality -- part of what makes him the terrific driving talent he is. He can't cut him out of the deal entirely, but maybe he can channel Bad Tony into more innocent endeavors such as uttering a post-race swear word on national television, rather than running into the back of a teammate during a race and then repeatedly not only blaming the teammate but calling him out and then having the audacity to blame the media for the controversy that erupts.

What he said was not that bad. In a sport where someone could die a bad word is the least of the children's worries. Children use language worse than that everyday and I am sure that most of them hear worse than that on the ride home. If you want a robot that only says what you want to hear go look somewhere else. I for one am proud of Tony for standing up for ME and all the BS that I have to listen to. That is what it is BS. Just like this. I am sure your children are scared 4 life because of what he said. This is an emotional sport and they are going to say what is on their mind, if you don't like it, don't watch it.
People like you are what is wrong with the world today!
20 4 LIFE!

From what I have read, it's made a lot of columns, columns that you don't read I guess.
Let's see you be as overjoyed as Tony and not accidently mess up in the heat of the moment. This is the Brickyard we're talking about here, his home track.
Even if we could make sure kids don't hear swear words on TV, kids are still learning swear words at a more and more younger age. And it's not because of what's on TV, but because of what's being said around them.

It was in many columns. He also had a point. He ran a clean race and said nothing negative after. Big deal about saying its for his fans who put up with people like you who bash anything that involves him as being the most horrible thing ever done.

OMG let me drop a sledge hammer on your foot in front of your kids and see if your a good role model. Cause im betting dollars to donuts your just like me and a lot of the rest of the world and a not so nice word is gonna come shooting out. People make mistakes daily. Should we ask them to lynch everyone who says a bad word?
