I was drinking a glass of milk and my cat started licking my face. I was going to let her drink some of my milk but I didn't know if she was allowed to. Can she?

cats are lactose intolerant. They make special milk for cats that you can buy. A little won't hurt her, though.

Are Cats Allowed Milk

It really depends on your cat. Some do not tolerate it. ( and do get the runs). Other are ok with it. I had a 20 yr old cat that had some milk every day of his life. Actually I think he had a "problem"! He was addicted! We joked that he needed to go to milkaholics annon. ! LOL!
But he was epileptic (very rare in cats, diagnosed at 4yr) and the vets said we wouldn't live long because the meds would break down his kidney's and liver. So maybe the milk helped in some way! He did make it to 20 after all!!!!!

NO! Please do not give your kitty the kind of milk that we drink (not even diluted evaporated milk). Most cats are lactose intolerant, and if she has much of it--it will probably give her diarrhea. What you CAN give her for a treat is the actual Mother cats milk. You can get it at your vet or places like Petco & PetSmart. If this is an adult cat, you don't want to do this too often because your cat will start putting on weight.

Well, it depends. I once had a cat, raised from a kitten. I never gave it milk because I read that they didn't need it when they got weaned. So-o-o-o, a few years later, I was getting ready for work & decided that he was such a GOOD cat that I would give him some milk for a treat. When I went out to get into my car (which was in the garage) to go to work, there was puke on the hood... So I never gave him milk again.

Cats don't need to drink milk. Milk could give your Cat diarrhea You can buy a product called "Cat milk," I think Whiskas makes it. But just give your kitty a little(about a tablespoon) as a treat.

milk really isnt good for cats....it gives em the runs....but a little bit wont hurt, just not too much, a sip or two! they make milk that cats can digest, youd probably find it in the store in the same aisle as the cat food and whatnot. I havent had a cat in a long time(5-6 yrs) but i used to buy my cat this stuff called "catsip" and she loved it.

Cats can't digest lactose, aka- milk sugars.
If you want to give your kitty some milk, try a product like Whiskas Cat Milk or Cat Sip.

My kittens love their Cat Milk.

YES!!! Cats love milk but you should microwave it a little bit so that it is a little bit warm. milk is healthy for cats because it is high in calcium for the cats bones especially for when they jump and land on the ground or anywhere that is hard and tough on their feet. once there was a stray kitten but i was scared to approach it so I left a bowl of warm milk outside and soon enough it was drinking it .

Yes, she can if she likes, but sometimes it gives them diarrhea, especially to small kittens. If her poop is fine after she drinks the milk, no problem. If she has diarrhea, don't give her milk again.
