Wedding Ring Question - Which way do you wear it?

Question

In your opinion, which way are you supposed to wear your wedding ring?

Should the band go on first (closer to your wrist) with the solitaire on top -- or the other way around?

Your wedding ring is to be worn closest to your heart so it goes on first followed by your engagement ring.

It's definitely a matter of personal choice. I am the kind of person that felt that the engagement ring is to go on first. Why? Because "I" feel that the engagement was the first part of the promise to marry. Then came the wedding, hence the wedding band. So that's the way "I" prefer to wear mine.

And as others have said, it's the long-time belief that the band should go on the left hand because it is closest to your heart.

I personally think that is looks very pretty to have the engagement ring as the "top" ring, then your band. But still it's a matter of personal preference...

It doesn't matter, but I wear my wedding band first and my engagement ring on top. I know women that wear it the opposite way just because the engagement ring is a little loose so they put the wedding band on top to keep it in place.

Wedding band goes closest to your heart.... so band then engagement ring.... that's why you shouldn't wear your engagement ring to the wedding on that finger... your wedding band is the most important ring on your hand that day! I plan on wearing my engagement ring on my right hand at the ceremony and then after the ceremony putting in back on my left hand on top of my wedding band! not sure but personal preference, I wear the band first because I don't always wear the other ring and I don't take my band off.
