Well, I've never (intentionally) eaten insects, but believe it or not, I've actually eaten DEEP-FRIED PICKLES! They're served at a pub in Little Rock, Arkansas, and when I tried them for the first time, I wasn't very impressed. I like my pickles to be crunchy, and I found the fried pickles to be kind of soggy.

The idea of "Bizzare Foods" depends on the country you live. I'm Italian and I don't consider liver, rabbit or octopus "strange". Where I live (Southern Italy) the brain of roasted pigs or lambs is considered a delicacy, but I'm sure many people wouldn't like it!!! I've been challenged to eat the eye of a roasted pig by my boyfriend. He told me it was a delicacy and I couldn't believe him. So we share it (I had only a half). The texture is indefinable. It was between liquid and soft and the taste was sickening. I'll never do it again!!!

Silk worm larva in Korea, the live octopus wasn't that great either. Oddest in the US was Eskimo "ice cream" blubber, berries and some other stuff I didn't want to know about!

Fried agave worms when I was in Mexico.

I tried to eat the Mexican version of caviar .... ant eggs... but I just couldn't bring myself to do it... they just looked too slimy ....

Edit: lol tangerine... I think I've had the same pickles.. and you're right.. they aren't very good here.. the ones I had in Fayetteville were much better.
