All the quick fixes are just that, and the weight will go back on just as quick.

You need to change your usual habits and listen to your body. Sometimes we confuse signals that our brain is sending, we think we're hungry, but actually a glass of water would probably satisfy, so if you get the urge, drink a glass of water first, if that doesn't work, then try to eat something healthy.

Don't refuse yourself a treat now and again, if you have a sweet tooth, coming off it all together will only give you withdrawalls, and that's when you'll binge. Also if you put your day into perspective, you actually burn off less calories as the day goes on, than first thing, so add that to your new eating plan, eat a hearty breakfast and don't worry if you're having quite a few calories as you will burn them off, maybe without noticing, lunch I would go for a Jacket potato, tuna and salad or something along those lines, as long as you feel satisfied with your meal, you wont get hungry later on, and finally avoid all carbs in the evening and make the portion smaller, infact from breakfast, try to do that with all your meals, that way in the evening when we are less likely to be active(aside from the bedroom) you haven't filled yourself with lots of calories.

Another thing would be to get rid of any weighing scales you have in the house, for a month, sometimes it can be demotivating if we are'nt seeing the pounds soar down, and that way at the end of the month you are more likely to feel better about how much weight you've lost in a month.

If time is a problem I would reccomend going onto the Biggest Loser website, they will give you a menu plan and the best thing is it's realistic ingredients, not tofu everyday, they also create a fitness plan, personal to your needs, this will probably be light exercise at first and will intensify as the course continues.

Good luck and let me know how you go on, I'll be thinking of you :0)

A sensible healthy diet, that includes everything you need and it's not breaking the "rules" if you have a treat occasionally. Take a reasonable approach to it all. You should do regular exercise, at a gym, you could ask them for a personal trainer, or ask them for exercises that are aimed at you. Sorry but taking walks doesn't help you lose weight. It's not as effective as say proper excercise like running, jogging etc. Also things which don't cost anything, is as mentioned running but also bike riding. Swimming is also a great way to help too.

To me, in three steps:

1) Avoid or reduce fatty foods and sugar, also sugary drinks.
Same with pastry, and white rice.

Eat a lot of veggies, fruit, lean meats, fish, whole grain flour products, enough water, and all the things you know are good for you, and cook them without much additives (they hide a lot of sugar in many cases).

2) Cardio exercises at least twice a week for 30 minutes:
Enough to get your heart beat going to about a 60 to 70 % of you capacity. (Idealy substract you age from 220, that would be your 100%, from there exercise in a 60 to 70 % for half a hour twice a week).
Another way to measure you effort level is to do it at a pace where you can say a sentence or two before needing to breath again. If you can only say a few words you are overdoing it, a speech and you are to slow!
Do whatever you like and enjoy and can do: Walking, speed walking, joggin, team sports, etc.
This will speed up your metabolism.

3) Toning exercises twice a week:
No need to bulk up, just to get your muscles tone to have them burning fat. Muscles are the body fat burners, so get them toned and fit. From light weights to resitance bands, to body weight exercises: crunches, sit ups, leg lifts, squats. etc. Do what you like and can stick with.
Do enough to get a work out but never to fatigue or to pain level.
This will get your muscles to burn fat away.

The combo of both kinds of exercises are the best to lose weight fast, get in shape and feel great. The program is not very demanding ( About 2 hours a week, so no excuses). But, the nutrition principals explain are essential to watch as eating habits (an ocassional slip is alright, but occasional eh)
And, keep active during the day, walk as much as you can, climb stairs instead of using the lift when posible, etc.

Hope this is of help. Give it a try.

The easiest and most likely to be permanent weight loss would have to be Weight Watchers. Some of us need support and a guideline of what is healthy and what isn't, and to monitor what food and portions we put into our bodies. Also, there is so much that you CAN eat with WW. It isn't all that expensive either. I strongly suggest you check it out...remember, fad diets never work and WW is not a fad diet at all.

The trick is to start NOW and stick to it...I am sure you do NOT want to hit the 200+ lb. mark!

Well since you didn't give your height or anything I wouldn't know how much you could lose. But to lose it the right and healthy way would be to eat right and exercise. I know you have heard this and you know how to but I am doing it and I am getting results. For the first time in my life I am being commited to something and its working great.

Its all about commitment baby ;-)
