Sprinkle with baking soda, then follow with peroxide over the baking soda. Scrub it in, let dry, then vacuum.

If the vomit was high in bile it may permanently damage the fibers because of its acidity...but you can try one of my favorite methods of removing stains - pour on a generous portion of seltzer water over the stain, then cover it with a generous portion of table salt. Let it sit for a while, the salt absorbing the stain, and then sweep it up and it should be gone.
Again, with something as acidic as bile, it may actually alter the color of the carpet fabrics, so there may not be anything you can do. Just get to it quickly.

A carpet cleaner like resolve, or woolite Oxy (that is my fav) should help. Other wise you can try Oxy Clean (there are carpent directions on the container) If that doesn't work you may need to rent a steam cleaner or call a pro.

Scoop up the, y'know, big stuff, with paper towels, and wipe the carpet down with "Great Value Spot Stain Remover".
Try this. Or any other spot remover.
WORKS GREAT!!!!!!!!!
Let it soak in for a few seconds and then start scrubbing.
