I don't know about the biggest 100 but the biggest 6 are toronto, montreal, vancouver, calgary, ottawa and edmonton.
As for weird names kamloops, yellowknife, whitehorse, red deer, swift current, moose jaw, medicine hat, saskatoon, portage la prarie, Nanaimo and flin flon are my favs
