Tell that to those in the middle of unusual floods, storms or drought.
If everybody was a nay sayer to every effort, then may as well mercelessly plunder the planet and consume its resources as if garenteed an afterlife...
The biggest long term help would be population reduction, maybe to 1/4th of what it is now, which is the same as it was 80 yrs ago...
At the current rate of growth, it will double again in 40 yrs time, so I'd say to christian etc, consider your grandkids, and their grandkids, and the world they will inherit..
