Pay close attention to the following areas, and you should be able to obtain overall health, & wellness:
1.) Exercise: Work up to a regular aerobic (endurance) exercise program.
2.) Diet & Nutrition: Especially cut down on fat-intake!!
3.) Not smoking
4.) Alcohol moderation: No more than two drinks a day!
5.) Weight control: Maintain a healthy weight instead of losing and gaining.
6.) Avoiding injury: exercise your own common sense!
7.) Professional prevention: work along side your doctor.

Well- You can start by walking wherever you can, and not jockeying for a parking spot right in front of the store when you get groceries. That will get you exercise, and save you money on gas.

Cut way back on pre-packaged meals. Those tend to be loaded with additives that you don't need and are probably making you feel icky.

Learn to cook and bake from scratch. Believe it or not, that can be surprisingly therapeutic. Not to mention you know what's in what you make.

Get a double-boiler/steamer, and use that to cook your vegetables. That will preserve the taste and nutritional value. And can be used to cook whole meals!

Buy fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables, when you can. While canned vegetables do in a pinch, they tend to be high in salt and lower in nutrition.

If you have the space, consider gardening even. You can even use containers such as large buckets and barrels: I did that with a few of my herbs one year, and they grew just as beautifully as could be. I got to use my herbs in soups and stews well into winter.

Do - drink lots of water, exercise, low fat diet, positive outlook

Don't - smoking,excessive drinking, high fat diet, couch potato.
