I want to get MS Office 2007 but see the price is highly variable depending where I go to shop. Any suggestions for the best reliable of getting 2007 for as little money as possible? Don't tell me Limewire or Bittorrent, looking for legal ways to get this at low cost. It is a must that I get the CD's by the way, not interested in downloading it remotely.

See if the student and teacher version is available. While there are rules about who is supposed to use it, most people are students in some way or another (you have do learn the 2007 version, don't you?) It is not supposed to be used in offices, just in homes and classrooms and it can't be upgraded, but it costs about half what the Adult version does. All features of included programs are there, Power Point may be left out.

Nice to see someone being honest for once. Ever thought of doing a one day computer course at a registered college. They'll give you a student card and you can then purchase everything at student prices which are a third of what others pay. The programs are called Academic versions of MS, but they're identical to the commercial version in every aspect.

If you are a student then I know you are entitled to some discount.

A free alternative is Open Office from openoffice.org

It can offer just about everything that Microsoft Office can.

If you particularly want Office 2007, then be prepared to shell out the readies !
