And if so, what kind of religion?

(I have no opinion on the subject, but I read this in one of the Bridget Jones books. But personally I can't stand self-help books, I think they tend to be kind of flaky)

I had a friend who was into the self-help thing in the late 80s. According to her everyone was from a dysfunctional family, co-dependent, or an addict of some kind. I thought she was a bit off on that. I think she was projecting herself onto others. Anyway, she constantly went to 12 step meetings and kept buying all the books that went with it. So, I don't know if it was a type of religion for her or ironically an addiction. I tend to think it was the latter.

I've never written a self-help book, but I'm thinking of doing so because I need a great deal of help, and nobody else is able to help me in that regard.

I don't think that a self-help book could be a religion...
I think their more of "finding yourself" kind of thing.

No, it is not a kind of religion.

They are various forms of spirituality (often).
