Moses wrote the first five books of the Old Testament expect for the account of his death which was written by Joshua. I never heard of the idea that Joshua just vanished. In the book of Judges chp One it clearly states "After the death of Joshua" So there is no talk of him vanishing.
That may be the story in the Koran which Muhammad wrote long after the time of Moses and Joshua and after the coming of the Messiah, Jesus

In probably every case, the books of the Talmud/Old Testament were not written by the prophet that the section was named after. These prophets had scribes who actually wrote things down, and these books were revised and edited many times by rabbis and scholars before they ended up in the version we know today.
The Quran on the other hand was written down by scribes directly from the words of Muhammad, who was himself illiterate, as was the case for many of the prophets in ancient times. I am sure there were revisions and editing done during Muhammad's life but after he died, no changes were made, which is kind of too bad because the Quran is hopelessly jumbled and almost seems deliberately confusing, and this is most likely much of the cause of today's strife between Sunni and Shia.

The first five books of the Bible; Genesis,Exodus,Leviticus,
Numbers and Deuteronomy are considered the books of The Law written by Moses. Only the last 8 verses of Deuteronomy are about time of Moses' death and beyond. It was common practice for important information to be written by scribes and kings or rulers had official scribes who kept official records. The books that ancient Israel kept were kept in the Treasurey of the temple when it existed and a copy of the Law of Israel was to be stored in the Ark of the Covenant which is believed to be hidden for now. A scribe or perhaps Joshua probably wrote the last verses of Deuteronomy.
the last few verses of Deuteronomy states that there was not another prophet like Moses who knew the Lord and showed his power.
The book of Joshua ends similar to Deuteronomy in that only the last few verses of the book are events past Joshua's death when it records that he died. Another person wrote some of that book as well because verse 26 of that last chapter tells of Joshua writting in the Book of the Law of God which was near his death.
Moses died and "the Lord buried him where no one knows where his grave is" whereas Joshua was buried by his people (the last chapters of Deuteronomy and Joshua state this). The New Testament book of Jude verse 9 mentions that Michael the archangel had a dispute with the devil about the body of Moses. It is a popular belief by those who study the Bible that Moses could be one of the two witnesses who are prophets in the reign of the antichrist as mentioned in the book of Revelation because of the great poweres of God that those witnesses will display which are similar in greatness to the great prophets of old including Moses.
The revelation of God ends with the New Testament where Jesus is shown to fulfill many of the prophecies that were about Him. God has established a new covenant with Jews and Gentiles who accept Jesus as HIs son and Savior. There is no greater person than Jesus, since He is God's son, so there can be no other covenant to replace His.
It is important to note that probably every writer of the Bible was Jewish and the scripture quotes Jesus as saying that "salvation is of the Jews" in the Gospel of John chapter 4 verse 22. Muhammed was not Jewish and there is no reference about him in the whole Bible. He is not a prophet from a biblical sense because every biblical prophet was either laying a foundation about Jesus or preaching about Jesus as John the Baptist did. A prophet of God would never ever relate that Jesus and His work are now superceded by some man after Jesus fulfilled his heavenly Father's purpose of bringing salvation to sinful man of which Muhammed being a mere man was also as everyone else has been. The creation cannot be greater than it's creator and so a mere man cannot be greater than the God who made him. Jesus was a man while also being God that is why He was born from a virgin miraculously so He would not inheirt a sinful nature from man. All other men are born in their sins. I wrote a lot so please consider it carefully so my effort is not in vain.

The Torah was "written" in the days when writing was still a new form of communication and probably wrought with errors.
The Koran, while being dictated by Muhammad, was not written by him, as he was illiterate. This leads me to think that, while memorization is a fair way to tell stories, many errors could occur during the transfer process, kinda like a game of "Telephone".

false impression: Muhammad wrote the Qur'an In addressing this false impression, it is thrilling to not that no different religious scripture claims to the direct recognize Almighty in toto as sparkling and as usually because of the fact the Holy Qur'an. because of the fact the Qu'ran of course says: "if have been written via guy, you will possibly have got here across many discrepancies therein". on the time the Qur'an became revealed, the Arabs recognised that the language of the Qur'an became unique and that it became relatively distinctive from the language usually used via the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. The Arabs of that factor, via the way, have been prevalent for his or her captivating poetry and Muhammad became prevalent to be an illiterate guy! The Qur'an of course says that Muhammad became unable to envision and write, so if this wasn't genuine, unquestionably his contemporaries might have protested and rejected him. in spite of the shown fact that, there are actually not any comments of this. unquestionably there have been people who rejected Muhammad's message, merely like different prophets have been rejected, yet none as a result. on the different, Muhammad, peace be upon him, had hundreds of unswerving followers and the ends up of their efforts unfold Islam from Spain to China in merely over a century! it is likewise thrilling to observe that even nevertheless the Qu'ran isn't poetry, the Arabs greater or much less gave up writing poetry after it became revealed. it would desire to be reported that the Qur'an is the piece of Arabic literature par execellance - and Muhammad's contemporaries found out that they could not out do it. additionally, it is straightforward to tutor that Muhammad did not own very much of the certainty that's appropriate in the Qur'an: collectively with understanding of historic events, previous prophets and organic phenomenon. The Qur'an says in numerous places that Muhammad and his human beings did not be conscious of those issues - so, back, if this wasn't genuine, unquestionably his contemporaries might have rejected his claims. Suffice it to declare that not basically is the Qu'ran the main memorized and nicely preserved scripture in the international, it is likewise unequaled in eloquence, spirtual result, readability of message and the purity of its reality.
