Because their Bible tells them so.
Put no God before Me
Sounds like a nice understanding guy huh? I try not to get angry when they call my Gods false and claim that the stories are stolen from THEIR book. But I do loose it sometimes.

Christians have been taught to take a very literal interpretation of a very skewed translation of the bible and take everything as absolute fact. God invented the world in 7 days, that means 7 days, 7 24-hour periods, nothing different than what we know and experience. It is extremely narrow minded. Personally I don't have a problem with faith, or even Christianity, but when you get so locked in that you can't see past your own....bible, it causes nothing but problems and intolerance. I highly recommend a thorough studying of all religions in addition to science, especially evolution. If you have an open mind, they all basically support each other.
I don't know if you're interested, but here's my theory on reincarnation, influenced by my upbringing in Christianity, study of other world religions, and college coursework in evolutionary biology. We know from the laws of physics that energy cannot be created nor destroyed. We also know from physiology that every living organism on earth, from bacteria to plants to mammals, produces the same form of energy to support life, namely ATP. So if energy is neither created nor destroyed, the energy the organism is creating has to come from somewhere. Well obviously, they get it from either consuming other organisms or through photosynthesis. But you see what I mean, it's the same energy being processed through again and again, so what is powering your cells right now could have come from a plant that was once a bear that was once George Washington, or however you want to look at it. Don't know if you agree, but I think it's an interesting theory!

I am a Christian and I believe in a loving God who gifted you (and the rest of us) with the free will to choose what your faith will be in...him or otherwise. Christians are called to SHARE their faith...not SELL it. Some are confused by this.
Despite what some Christians would like to claim, we do not have all the answers. And, I can assure you that it is not the will of the God I worship for anyone to pass judgment upon you simply because you are not like minded. The God I know tells me to love my neighbor as myself. Last I checked that scripture didn't come with a footnote and a disclaimer that the commandment was void if your neighbor believed differently than you.
No worries, the scriptures also say that you will be judged by God in the same manner that you have judged others. And the next time a Christian tries to say something like this to you, kindly remind them that you might desire to be a Christian too if they were a better example.

Is it ok for you to stereotype all Christians and call them pathetic and narrow minded??? Geez!
I am a Christian and I believe what the Bible teaches...NO reincarnation! You get one chance in this life. Get to know Jesus before it is too late.

Because what ever does not further their aims they reject.
Having people believe they have more than one chance to get to heaven does not sit well with scammers who want the gullible to pay for only one shot at the major prize.
After all their Invisible Sky Pixie reputedly says: Y'all had better suck up to me or I'll send y'all to hell.

Not all Christians are this way. I do believe in reincarnation. If you don't get it right the first time, you gotta do it all over again. Why? God doesn't want anyone to perish.

There are some people in every religion who feel the need to push their religion simply because either their scriptures tell them to do so or they believe it will do them well "in the end"...

As a Christian, I suggest that you err when you consider us a homogeneous group, all believing precisely alike. There are many "Christian" groups who exclude Christians who do not accept their private interpretations of Christianity. We do not all think and/or believe alike.
While I may not understand your beliefs, I accept them as your beliefs, and also accept that you may understand some truths that I do not, and I may understand some truths that you do not. We must not exclude one another on the basis of faith that we do not understand; it is my opinion that God reveals truth to each as she/he can understand and accept it.
As a Christian, I can allow all persons of other faiths to define themselves as they understand themselves. I would be in error to define you on the basis of my misunderstanding of your faith.

I agree totally. If you disagree with something that's part of a main-stream religion generally it's all a "no-go".
Blessed be.

Religion is the largest proponent of discrimination. All religions have this theme in common: "If you do not believe as me, you will be worse off"
