You don't say what your man does for a living, but tired is tired
I guess. My husband works nights as a Sheriffs Deputy and is soooo tired when he gets home in the morning. The best way I have found to deal with the grumpiness is to let him be.
And don't take it personally.

It's normal. I work swing shift where I do a different shift each week. Sometimes I have to do overtime. My husband knows I am tired when I get home from work and lets me sleep. I know that depressed feeling. Sometimes when I work the night shift, I have a hard time falling asleep. If I don't get enough sleep, I have this feeling and it does feel like depression. Usually just closing my eyes for a few minutes helps.

Yes. Yes my guy does. I've known him for forever and he has always been this way.
When he's not grumpy he's totally lite hearted, and funny. The life of the party. But when he's grumpy there isn't much you can do to make him perk up. He skulks around. It's hard to talk to him with out catchin a 'tude for a response.
I guess thats what they mean when they say you take the good with the bad.
I love 'm to death.
lucky bastard.
;-)

Sometimes my man gets grumpy, but not depressed.

We all do to some extent. We just want to be left alone to unwind. Ask once if there is anything you can get for him, then leave him alone and go amuse yourself with something that would keep you cheerful.
