I fully support two hot chicks getting married. "Amen to that", said the atheist.

I agree that the bible does not say anything about a man not aloud to have more then one wife, with-in Moses' teachings. In fact, it was aloud through-out the Old Testament. How-ever, I believe the bible does give warnings in the New-Testament of having more then one wife.
Through out biblical and non-biblical history, there has been many dangers of jealousy between wives, and having the husband loving one wife more then the other. This is probably why the Christian Church will not allow a man having more then one wife.
In fact I can't say God created man to have more then one wife. If he did, i would think God would have given Adam another wife then just Eve. Then again it's not my place to say, what God allows and not.

There is a clear Divine definition of marriage being between one man and one woman:
Genesis 2:21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22 Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
23 And Adam said:
“This is now bone of my bones
And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman,
Because she was taken out of Man.”
24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
Question: do you see God making Eve, Jane and Carmen here, or just Eve? Since God only made one woman for Adam, what does that tell you?
Jesus upheld this concept, as well. But what sinning humans do is not God's fault.

The opening passages of the book of Genesis tell the story of Adam and Eve. God opened Adam up, took his rib (or side) and made a woman from it. Adam said 'Two shall be one flesh."
The Lord Jesus used this quote as a teaching against divorce and remarriage. He taught that if a man divorced his wife, except for fornication, and married another, he commited adultery. He also said in the same passage that Moses, because of the hardness of yours hearts allowed divorce, but from the beginning it was not so.
The divine order for marriage is seen in the book of Genesis, though many of the patriarchs (like Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob) perhaps out of ignorance, did not follow this.

If you read the Bible clearly, there are many scriptures that talk about how we should only have 1 partner in marriage. In 1 Timothy 3 it gives detail on how men should only have 1 wife. Also in 1 Corinthins 7, it says let each man have his own wife, not wives, and let each woman have her own husband, not husbands. Also, make sure you know what's in the Bible before you bring it up. God Bless!

The Bible hints the uniion between one man and one women being better when describing the qualifications for being a Bishop.
Titus 1:6 If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
1 Timothy 3:12
Deacons must be husbands of only one wife, and good managers of their children and their own households.
1 Timothy 3:2
An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,
Clearly the Bible describes a healthy union in marriage as one man and one wife.

Marriage Obligations and Divorce
“That is why a man will leave his father and his mother and he must stick to his wife and they must become one flesh.” (Genesis 2:24)
FOR his followers Jesus Christ put marriage back where God had started it in the garden of Eden. God gave the perfect man Adam one wife, making him monogamous.
The Christian that is justified or declared righteous in God’s sight may have no more than one living wife.
In the congregation the overseers, who are spiritually “older men,” and the ministerial servants may be “husbands of one wife” only. They are the men to be followed as examples of the flock, and so all other married persons in the flock may HAVE ONLY ONE LIVING MARRIAGE MATE. (1 Timothy 3:1, 2, 12, Titus 1:5-7)
Christians must stick to their marriage mates in faithfulness, in love, so remaining in it associated with God.
This does not permit a man to commit adultery or have sex relations with any other woman. He should be satisfied with and draw delight from sexual relations with only his wife; as it is written: “Drink water from your own cistern, running water from your own well. Why should your springs be scattered abroad, your streams of water in the streets? Let them be for yourself alone, and not for strangers along with you. Let your fountain be blessed to you, and get your enjoyment from the wife of your youth. A lovely hind, a graceful doe—let her breasts intoxicate you always, with her love be continually ravished. Why, my son, should you be ravished with the wife of another, and embrace the bosom of an adulteress?” (Proverbs 5:15-20, AT)
Committing adultery makes the guilty one subject to disfellowshiping from the congregation and also lends the other spouse an open avenue to divorce the adulterer with Biblical reasons.
Hope this has helped. I spread it out a bit so you could read it and digest it properly so it wouldn't be all scrunched together in one never-ending heap of words.
Trust..

The clearest evidence that monogamy is God’s ideal is from Christ’s teaching on marriage in Matt. 19:3–6. In this passage, He cited the Genesis creation account, in particular Gen. 1:27 and 2:24, saying ‘the two will become one flesh’, not more than two.
Another important biblical teaching is the parallel of husband and wife with Christ and the Church in Eph. 5:22–33, which makes sense only with monogamy — Jesus will not have multiple brides.
The 10th Commandment ‘… You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife [singular] …’ (Exodus 20:17) also presupposes the ideal that there is only one wife. Polygamy is expressly forbidden for church elders (1 Tim. 3:2). And this is not just for elders, because Paul also wrote: ‘each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband.’ Paul goes on to explain marital duties in terms that make sense only with one husband to one wife.
The example of godly people is also important. Isaac and Rebekah were monogamous — they are often used as a model in Jewish weddings today. Other examples were Joseph and Asenath, and Moses and Zipporah. And the only survivors of the Flood were four monogamous couples.

No Limit for Marriages in Bible and all Old Religions:
It is narrated that father of so many Prophets Abraham (peace be upon him) married three wives, Sarah, Hagar and Kenturah (Bible:Genesis 16,25), and Prophet Ishmael (peace be upon him) married two wives (See Hadith), Prophet Jacob (peace be upon him) married four Leah and Rachel his cousins, Zilpah and Bilhah maids (Genesis 29,30) and his brother Esau have same number Adah, Ahobimah, daughter of Zibeon and Besemath daughter of Ishmael (Genesis 36) (See Genesis 16), Prophet David (peace be upon him) married tens of wives, except concubines (read bible). Prophet Solomon (peace be upon him) is told to have married seven hundred wives with three hundred concubines (1 Kings 11:14) and his son Rheboam married eighteen wives and sixty concubines (Chronicles 11:21) and Prophet Abijah (peace be upon him) is reported to have 14 wives (2-Chronicles13:21). And Raja Man Singh of India was correct in marrying one thousand five hundred queens as per traditions.
Islam Gave Rules for Marriage and preferred one Marriage;
Islam made only a limit to number of marriages which was unlimited before. Four - but only one is better if you cannot keep perfect justice, see the only verse in Quran about number of marriage. And this is also help for poor widows and safety for childless and helpless ladies. And this helps to avoid the crime of illegal sex. Which is common in monogamaic western society and caused wide spread immorality and spread infectious diseases (AIDS, burns etc.).
3 If you fear that you shall not be able to treat the orphans with fairness, then you should not marry the women with orphan children; marry other women of your choice: two, three or four. But if you fear that you will not be able to maintain justice between your wives, then marry ONLY ONE or any slave girl you may own. That will be more suitable, so that you may not deviate from the Right Way. (Quran 4An-Nisaa)

whelp, you're right in both senses. in most places, marriage is between a man and a woman, but the bible also upholds polygamy, mostly for the very rich. however, the bible also says men can abuse their wives, that the woman who has an affair with a married man is to blame and not the man, that women are to be subordinate to men, that a woman has no legal right over her children other than to take care of them, that a man can send his wife away at any time if he wants a new one, that if your neighbor steals your horse you should stone him to death, that if a woman is menstruating she cannot be touched, that if a man spills his semen on the ground after sex it is a sin.... the list of obsurdities goes on and on. so when i hear a christian tell me what the bible says, i enjoy reminding them of everything else the bible says that they so conveniently ignore. marriage is about love. period.
