Looks usually matter initially but attraction gets old if you have a crappy personality. The personality is what keeps you around in the long run.

I guess one can be very drawn to a good-looking person, but if he or she has no personality the relationship becomes boring and lame. That's why people say personality is more important. Then again there probably isn't gonna be a relationship without some physical attraction. Also the majority of us belong to the avarage looking and we can always think, that even tough we don't have the best looks, we at least have the best personalities. That's how the avarage looking people make themselves feel better.

Yes yes yes. In my opinion. Here's the checklist.
1. Intelligent
2. Funny (has to have a great sense of humor)
3. Good sense of self
If I can read these 3 things upon first impression, I am willing to delve a little deeper with a guy, and see what makes him tick. The biggest turn off is 'that guy' who waltzes up and thinks his looks alone could make me swoon. Then I think he's a jack ***, and figure his less attractive friends prob have more to offer. But I kno some girls who dont care, they would just want to get with him. I'm just not like that.

beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
just because one person is "good looking" in my eyes, doesn't mean my friend will think the same.
as you get older, you will notice you have a connection with certain people, and it's not always about looks -- but of course, physical attraction is something very common.
i think it's important to be well-groomed, clean and neat.
taking care of yourself is a sign to girls that you CARE about your appearance, and yourself!
i don't know if this is a good answer, but it's just what i think after all these years of living.

Personality definately out weighs looks. If you are looking for long term that is because looks fade over time... personaliity is the only thing left ... Dont worry personality on a guy can actually make him cuter then he thinks ;) Goodluck sweetheart

I think personality is way more important, but you can't be with someone that you're not at least a little bit physically attracted to.

Personality is important.. Women may like men who are kind and smart but they also like a man who is handsome. It usually depends on the women really.. but when a woman falls for a man cause she loves who he is.. then looks don't matter at all cause no matter what people say he is still cute or handsome to her.. No matter what..

Quite honestly I don't give a rat's a$$ about looks. If a guy is funny, smart, reasonably self sufficient (I mean doesn't live with mommy) then he's got a chance. From there it's about whether we have anything in common, chemistry, all that. But looks don't matter to me. At all.

obviously looks matter at first and it will kinda decide if u wanna talk to the guy or not but i wudn't say looks was completely important, why go out with a guy who may look good but can't even hold a conversation?
