any full combat style will enable to kick a guys *** who has not done any.
Cmon guy you know what works really.
Boxing, kickboxing, muay thai, olympic style wrestling,BJJ, MMA, judo whatever.
What do you think pros devote their lives to these sort of styles just to have some average guy be able to take them out?
Just steer clear of anything 'not scarey' or where you won't break a sweat. In other words 99% of the karate, kungfu, taekwondo, aikido etc classes out there. They are just about taking money off people and providing a friendly social club atmosphere in return.
If you want to bust him up a bit, do the full contact striking sports, boxing kickboxing etc.
If you just want to own him in front of people, and not risk legal action for cutting or breaking his face, then choose the grappling sports.
Any of these with only about 3 months you got the average guy covered 99 times out of a 100.
But once again if its not scarey, its not working. So you have to make sure you have worked up to sparring full contact(scarey...only at first) for at least the last two months of that 3 months.
As to the actual streetfighting aspect. Well I did that for quite a few years, though we just called it brawling where I came from, and more accurately 'drunken brawling' and it is largely all crap. A good sportsmen of any of the above full contact sports wins 99% of unarmed street fights. I became a far worse fighter after I started street fighting.
All you really learn is gettting a nose for trouble. When to get out of there before it starts or how to hit the other guy as hard as you can before he is ready for it, and then getting out of there!
A sportsmen wins most self defence type scenarios by having nothing to prove, which helps his thinking when he is in danger, especially if weapons show themselves. In fact he gets out of trouble much easier than a normal guy before he even gets into it.
Like I said and the rest he wins by getting in the first punch or being real fit,he can keep running a loooong way ! All the way back to doing his sport where fighting is worth something.

Seriously, why fight, period? If the fight can be avoided, then do so. Most fights can pretty much be avoided, unless you are in a situation where some fool simply starts throwing punches at you for the hell of it. I have several years of martial art training and I don't look to get into fights, if I really don't have to. I just simply laugh at anyone who wishes to fight and go on about my business.

Watch the UFC... The most effective forms of all fighting styles and techniques are employed and it is most likely what you will deal with in a street fight.
Step 1: Learn to throw a punch!

stay cool first of all even through the fight be cool! 80% of the world is right handed so he will probaly launch a wild right hook just anticipate it,step back and put a left jab to his eye and keep diong the same thing anticipate his punches, let him punch and counter, use your left hand until it's time to use your right.don't wrestle him it takes to much energy, when ever he reaches for you just back up at an angle and when you back up..jab him, if he falls do not kick him you want to defeat him not kill him.do not get yourself corned, keep your back in the open space, remember STAY COOL it's important. i don't encourage fighting but sometime you have to.

Get in the first lick. Using the "heel" of your hand bring it up under his nose forcefully. It's jerk his head back, cause excrutiating pain, his eyes will water profusely, and he may feel awfully sick. And just in case he still feels like fighting a few minutes later, you might at that point also turn and run like hell.

The best defense is to run as fast as you can away from the guy. if he chases and catches you, then kick him as hard as you can in the most vulnerable place you can get at and kick him again when and if he falls down. Then continue running.

If you want to simply win, kick him in the balls. If you want to win without looking like a complete loser, learn Taekwondo.

A coward would suggest a weapon, but the best way is straight-up grappling. Whoever is stronger wins.
