I worked at a golf course and once hit a ball into the bosses office window shattering it into millions of pieces. He handed me a bill for $1600 and wanted me to pay it.
I had already been suspended for a week with out pay, so I didn't have the money.
I went to his boss (Arnold Palmer Golf Management) and told them the story. I had my job back, the course paid for the window, and my @$$ hole boss was was put on probation for handling the situation so poorly.
So good luck.
If i did it again, I would run away, hide in the bushes, wait for nightfall, and make my way home under the cover of darkness.

I dont know where W plays, but i work at a golf course and i know that our policy is that it is the golfers responsibility for errant golf shots. Whether you are going to tell the homeowners that you hit their window is your choice, but i seriously doubt that your golf course will cover it.

Unless it was deemed to be intentional and it doesn't sound like it, the local course that you play on is required to have insurance to cover this. Go in the pro shop and tell them what happened and they will handle it.
