I'll get a lot of thumbs down on my answer. If you don't believe me check out my sources. They are further deceiving themselves and plan on deceiving on others. Remember even satan can use scripture to suit his purpose. Just look at Matt. 4:6. They claim to be christian but are far from it. Just check out my sources!

Well I guess you would have to ask the specific Witnesses you refer to. I personally am friends, or at the very least friendly, with quite a few non Witnesses. I get along quite well with my neighbors. It is true that we do in many areas have night time Bible meetings, in my area the latest one lets out at around 9:20, though we visit for a while after. If it is at a house and lasting 4 hours what you are describing is probably what is sometimes called a party. They could be watching movies. Your best bet is to ask.

Not all are rude - I went to college with a lady who was Jehovah's Witnesses and found her to be a lovely and polite individual. However I have met others who have been rude and arrogant - but as in every religion it takes all sorts of people to keep a balance. The only time I have spoken against them was when I was still in secondary school and 2 children (a girl of about 10 and a boy of about 7) came knocking on doors to spread their beliefs - I literally told them to go have as walking around and knocking on strangers doors was unsafe and they would end up dead, if I'd have known where the children lived I would have taken them back and told their parents the same thing.

n.b. The lady from collage that I mentioned earlier had a daughter of 13 who she would not allow to go out preaching without adult supervision - so again that is individuals choices.

The few that I know are pretty nice. Do you think that what they are doing has anything to do with their religion? I don't know if I would pin the whole religion to the wall because of one neighbor. I have a neighbor that I know attends a non-denominational church and is quite and doesn't speak much but I do not look at my other neighbor and say what is wrong with all of those church goers, their so quite and don't speak much.

I am not a JW, but I do know that they meet 5 times a week. Three during the week, at night because that is when most of them are available after work; and two over the weekend, during the day. Most of their meeting are Bible classes to strenghten their ministries.

As of 2006, there are nearly seven million active Jehovah's Witnesses, and another ten million who associate themselves with the religion.

Even if the questioner had experienced such outrageous behavior by a hundred actual (rather than imagined or exaggerated) Witnesses, it would still be "prejudiced" and "bigoted" to suppose that must extend to all or most Jehovah's Witnesses.

Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:

(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.

(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.

(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

They're probably plotting to do something really nasty to you.

Or, maybe you just happen to have a rude neighbor and they're having some sort of meeting or party at their house that you weren't invited to. Frankly, you sound a bit paranoid and I wouldn't invite you either.

I have known them for a while, some of them are really good people, some of them think they are the only good people in the world...I think the reason might be some good people turn to religion. Not because the religion itself is ......good!
