Seriously, because quite frankly, I'm confused. When we are silent, people keep stating we all approve of terrorism. When we speak out, no matter how short or long it is, it's called Spam. I have noticed that since I've started speaking out and showing what Islam really says, those who state that not a single muslim speaks out have stopped saying this. So, should muslims speak out and work against terrorism which you call spam, or should we remain silent and let you happily continue on in chosen ignorance about the fact that most muslims don't approve of terrorism?

Asalamu alaykum,

Speak out and use the knowledge that Allah has given you, to show others the beauty of Islam. Don't let the negative opinions get you down or discourage you from the righteous act that you are doing. Be patient and understanding, and inshaAllah we can slowly break down the stereotypes that we as Muslims have to work against.

If you remain silent... it is not us chosing to remain ignorant, but you keeping us there. We can only respond to what we witness.

Now, as far as spam goes, this depends on how you are doing it. I haven't really seen much in the way of your posts (I usually breeze through here just reading questions), but showing what Islam really is, is a good start... just please don't do it like some of the Christians in here, where they post half the Bible just to say "it's bad to lie". Normally when I say anything about wanting a Muslim to speak out, I usually mean I want to see some of the Muslim leaders themselves speak out against it so the terrorists themselves know that their own people do not approve and have a backing from the Quran (is it Quran? Koran?) to show for it. If Pagans were terrorizing your city and all you found was a couple people online speaking out against it, you probably wouldn't have too much faith that Pagans who are leaders (there aren't any, btw... we don't have leaders the way mainstream religions do) are against it unless you hear it from them, right?

I hope this didn't come across as being arrogant or rude... I wasn't trying to be.

I don't want you to stop speaking out against terrorism.

However, as I have tried to tell you before, I do want you to stop telling the lie that Islam and all Muslims are nonviolent.

Every religion on the planet has different sects who disagree about which verses from scripture are the most important. Some value the violent verses. Some value the nonviolent verses. Islam is no exception.

Violent and nonviolent verses are both contained in the Koran. You cite nonviolent ones and ignore the violent ones. The terrorists do exactly the opposite. You are both Muslims who justify your beliefs with verses of the Koran.

Stop denying it.

That doesn't mean you need to leave R&S or stop speaking about Islam. You just need to recognize that your religion contains people of many different beliefs and stop claiming that all Muslims are exactly like you.

Ignorant people don't care if you speak out or not. They just want to condemn you and they use that as their excuse. I think that it is good for innocent Muslims to say that they don't agree with terrorists. Then others will know the truth and those people hating you will look bad to all.

Few muslims speak against violence and that is the problem. Muslims dont have protest rallies against violence & terrorism. Look americans shook the entire nation against vietnam war. But where are good muslims. Are they hiding , or they have become hostage ?

Its your religious leaders who are totally silent.
It is their influence that should be able to stop all this.
Yet they seem to be right in the thick of it.
Yes, there are many good hearted muslim members, but it seems they are too frightened of retaliation from the leaders to speak up.
Recently, in Australia, we had the so called Australian leader blame a girl who was raped by a pack of young " muslim" thugs.
On the basis of how she dressed.
at least our law got them and they are doing 40 years.
Public pressure got this leader to quit.
These leaders seem to still be living in the middle ages., with their attitude and even dress.
And want to change Australia to their way of thinking.
Not in my backyard...

I think everyone has a right to speak out the truth about their religion. It is their responsibility to tell the truth. I also think that everyone should respect others religion and beliefs, because that way is the only right way. Im a Muslim, living in Australia, and its so hard for us Muslims these days, because everyone is so judgemental and quick to believe everything they hear in media and from others.
People are so quick to just generalize every single Muslim. to those who bomb, practise terrorism.. and so on.
There is bad in every religion, and unfortunately in ours there are some fanatics that have made the whole world see us differently. May Allah punish them for their sins.
May God punish everyone for their sins, especially those who kill, those who hate, those who judge. Who are they to Judge. Only God is the right Judge and the right Ruler.

Speak out and let people know, but please don't preach. I am interested in all faiths and beliefs, but will gloss over a question if I perceive it to be preaching at me.

Remember though, this is a place for debate and sharing of opinions, so if someone's opinion of what you say is not to your liking, just acccept their right to it and move on.

Jamesmom2 hit the nail right on the head!.

You preach and that is considered spam and yes Christians do that as well.
If you want to preach do it on your 360 page.

I challenge you to ask your fellow Muslims if they would turn in their own family members and friends if they were aware of any terrorist activities.
When we ask that question we get reported for bashing Muslims.

.
one must speak and work out against terrorism,
let other call spam, you should not bother at all to those
others calling spam, just ignore them, if required
ignore all of them, but stick to your stand on what you believe, and
say repeatly and repeatly louders and louder
(here louder mean strong words with clearity)... thouse who call spam, are
going to believe in you at last, you have to work hard, face resistance and
wait till all thouse to understand you, then they are gona believe you,
it`s really really a long way and hard task, but people like us
must not change the track, and
believe you me,
i believe you and me,
we can make,
truly,
sure
