I am refering mainly to Deuteronomy. God really lays down the law in Deuteronomy. The first thing you'll have to do is kill people. Lots and lots of people. Here's just a partial list.

Kill any prophets or "dreamers of dreams" if they say or dream the wrong things. 13:1-5, 18:20

Kill everyone with religious beliefs that are different than your own. (Including your family, friends, and neighbors) 13:6-10, 13:12-16, 17:2-7

Kill rebellious or disobedient sons 21:18-21, adulterers 22:22, and rape victims if they fail to cry out loud enough. 22:23-24

Besides killing, though, there are some other things that you must do.

Destroy the altars, images, and places of worship of those with different religions. 7:5

Cut off a woman's hand if she touches the "secrets" of a man who is fighting with her husband. "And thine eye shall not pity her." 25:11-12

And Sexism,

If you see a pretty woman among the captives then just take her home and "go in unto her." 21:11-14

The Bible was written by men. Claims to being divinely inspired are obviously self-serving.

The ancient society which produced the Bible thought differently than we think now. Women were 3rd-class citizens and completely subjugated to men. Certain concepts, like free will, weren't even developed at that time. Everybody back in those days believed in determinism -- that all is predestined. Which explains why there's so many passages in the bible which contradict free will. They sacrificed animals to God and were surrounded by pagan religions. They thought the world was flat and that the stars were placed in the firmament and that they revolve around the earth. Dinosaurs wouldn't be discovered until over 1700 years after Jesus. On and on.

The Bible is clearly not divinely inspired, nor is it the truth. It's just an ancient scripture written by ancient people from an ancient society with ancient ignorances.

Here is a paraphrase of my response to a question on the Koran a few minutes ago. The same things goes for both of them.

...

Any book that is claimed to be the perfect inspired word of God must be judged on its worst passages, not its best.

All believers pick and choose which elements of scripture to follow. Some choose the best; some choose the worst. Neither can easily be persuaded by reasoned argument because they believe their chosen passages are perfect.

That is the core problem. NO TEXT IS PERFECT. Not the Koran. Not the Bible. "Perfect" texts are dangerous.

There are other reasons for good behavior. A divinely inspired text is not necessary for it. However, a "divinely inspired" text with words of evil like those quoted above can go a long way towards spreading evil in the world.

People should question everything they read. Especially anything that claims to be divinely inspired.

Read a book called "The bible unearthed".
There is a video on youtube made after that book.
Archelogical evidences DISPROVE the bible.
End of story.

p.s; For those that used as an excuse that Chrstians use the new testament, ISN'T THE OLD TESTAMENT STILL THE WORD OF GOD? WHY DO YOU PICK AND CHOOSE WHICH PART OF THE BIBLE YOU LIKE? WHAT GOD NOW CHANGES HIS MIND, IT WAS OK TO KILL , RAPE IN THE OLD TESTAMENT BUT THEN HE DECIDED NOT TO MAKE IT OK ANYMORE?

You don't just understand the bible in its teachings because you are translating it in its literal meaning. Most words in the bible are not to be translated literally. Put this in your mind.

This is what it means:You must not follow the teachings of a false prophet and stop him from doing bad things. If he has another religious belief which is against God, do not follow him and do not allow yourself to be with him because he is following the wrong path.Stop and do not concede rebellious or disobedeint sons, adulterers and rape victims if they just pretended to have been rape but in fact they consented it because of the desire of the body flesh.Do not consent of altars and made images to worship and the other places of worship which is not intended for worship. Stop and avoid a woman whose desires are for her human desire on sex. Do not pity that kind of woman for she will bring you to the wrong path. Do not allow yourself to be tempted by a prostitute woman even she is well dressed and made herself beautiful to see. Till her to go home and keep silent in her house.

Those scriptures are an example of why the bibles not concrete word of God.
Remember even if the bible was inspired by god a man/or woman, wrote the books. The Bible itself claims man constantly makes mistakes, therefor the bible must have some mistakes in it. It's just figuring out which parts of the scripture are a mistake that can lead to so many problems...

Excellent analysis! If one needed any more proof of the delusion of the bible worshipers in the cult of Jesus, one look no further than their blind allegiance to their "holy" book! Filled with inconsistencies, hypocrisy, jealousy, murder, insecurity and ego. Yet the believers have the gall to tell us it's the infallible divine word of God! What a joke.

It makes no sense, it is too terse,
It is devoid of all context,

i individually asked one in all my Christian pals this question. She advised me that she believes that God stimulated the translators, scribes, and so on. to jot down what He wanted put in the Christian Bible. all and sundry has a thank you to justify what they have faith in. it somewhat is human nature. while it gets gruesome is while somebody is unwilling to entertain the possibility that they may well be incorrect. i don't think God (mine or the Christian God, the two, from what i've got study) might % "blind" faith. "Why have ye ears, yet do not hear. Eyes, yet won't see." is an element of a verse interior the Christian's new testatment. Blind faith motives intolerance, conflict, and disappointment. I in basic terms choose greater human beings might enable the loose replace of recommendations. it somewhat is okay to comply with disagree. :) good journeys, Asha

Bible is a creation of Roman & Jew politicians in order to use it as an opium to masses. Why did they ignore Gospel of St.Thomas a disciple of Jesus and not Paul who did not even see Jesus?
Religion has always been politicized.
Thats why Buddha has asked people to forget all religion and follow a practical path to know the truth.

No it's not true.
The bible is a testimony to teach and inspire but it's a book.
The "Word" is in the Children of God and not part of anything carnal.
Bibles are carnal and subject to corruption even as you struggle against your flesh despite your claims of being "Born-again." Nothing on earth is as Holy as a Child of God and the insights of such a being will offend the strict Bible believer even as Jesus offended the Pharisees because he knew their scriptures better than they did.
You don't believe a cross is holy and has power in and of itself do you?
It's a form of idolatry.

That's why it is wrong to interpret the Bible LITERALLY as some of our other Christian brothers do because it contain some errors contrary to moral values. Remember that the Bible is written by people, people who can commit mistakes! The only difference is that God inspired them to write it... Remember also that we are "Christians",the root word is "Christ"...Christ's main teachings is in the New Testament particularly in the 4 Gospels..
Hope it helps...God Bless!
