Well I want the wedding to be a costume wedding. I don't care about the decorations or anything else. She wants me to dress in a boring tux. I always wanted my wedding to be exotic. I might just let her have her way and just be grumpy and
act grumpy at the wedding....LOL I'm an a$$hole so that would be fitting for me.

Why not have a traditional ceremony, and then have an egyptian themed reception? Marriage is all about compromise, so you both have to be willing to meet each other halfway. If that fails, and its in your budget, consider having two weddings--one her way and one yours.

I hate it when brides say "Its my day and I'll have it my way." You can't have a wedding without a person to marry, so its not just 'your' day.

The wedding is for you both, it is your day. If you can't compromise now, then when can you? I just got married. My husband wore his beard and no jacket. I wore my flip flops, handmade silk dress, and chose to have gardenias everywhere. There were no complaints, we each were happy as clams to have our day exactly how we wanted it to be. My advice is to incorporate both. If you want to wear an Egyptian dress with the "eye of ra" eyeliner while he wears a tux with tails...GO FOR IT! Who cares what anyone else thinks.

Weddings are a time to observe tradition. Go to Egypt for your honeymoon and have an Egyptian-themed welcome-home gathering when you return from your honeymoon. That way everyone will be happy.

Well just try to incorporate both. Traditional and Egyptian. Marriage is all about compromise. So y'all gotta meet half way on this.

You can't have it all your way.
And he can't have it all his.

Meet in the middle. Mix the two ideas together.

maybe you can incorporate Egyptian things or decorations in to it but don't go full blown on it.
maybe your invitations can have a symbol or picture from Egypt on it... have the colors be desserty- browns oranges creams...
have your favors be themed to Egypt... maybe a cake or dessert to take home... cookies from a recipe from Egypt?
maybe serve a dish you like from Egypt if you have one.

i would agree.. you should tell her its your day too...

i've kinda been trying to convince my bf we should just elope to hell with the wedding.. but he doesn't seem to be up for that..

so its his day too.. and if he wants a show he'll have a show!! :)

maybe you should re consider marrying her if she isn't willing to comprise :)
