Some of friends have told me that they have bought 'cable boxes' which then hook up to a satellite which allows you get any channel you want. Anybody got information about this, is it illegal (i'm guessing yes)...? thanks for the help.

Yes it is illegal , yes I had one customer that had a Hijacked box, and yes he eventually was caught and had to spend two years in jail and pay a $10,000 fine.....

And he had to call the guy who built the hijacker every other month to get new codes to keep his box going....plus he had to dedicate a computer to his satellite to keep it running.....

It sounded like a hassle just to pirate TV stations....and THEN to get caught was even more of a pain....

To me it's not worth it.....

Some guys just showed up one day and TOOK his satellite and then the cops showed up on his doorstep about 30 minutes later....

I don't know if the computer guru got caught or not....But I saw his network server in his home and he was laughing about how much money he made selling SPAM services to people who wanted it.....He was a vampire.

But people like to brag about their exploits, and when you have a NICE TV repairman servicing your TV for a decent price...they're going to let their guard down. But just to let you know....what goes on in Vegas, STAYS in Vegas....

I hate spam....
