If you have problems concentrating, Omega-3 and Omega-6 vitamins might do the trick.

In a recent study of school children in England, these Omega-type vitamins were given daily to a bunch of kids who had trouble concentrating. Most of the kids were already identified as attention-deficit and were making bad grades.

Everyone was amazed when many of these kids started buckling down and studying, paying attention in class, and bringing home A's and B's on their report cards. The theory is that our modern diet has cut out the Omega vitamins, which are essential for the brain. Supposedly, taking the supplements can fix the problem if you have a deficiency.

You may have heard of Omega-3 which you can get from Fish Oil capsules, but the British study actually gave the kids Omega-6 also. So if you want to do the same thing the study did, take Fish Oil and Primrose Oil capsules together. The Primrose Oil provides the Omega-6.

I've noticed that a lot of drug stores have started carrying different Omega vitamin pills lately with varying ingredients. Just make sure you get the Omega-3 *and* the Omega-6, and I bet you'll notice a difference.

There is a page that talks about this in more detail (including giving the doses used in the British study) here:

I have heard that lecithin improves concentration and that gingko biloba is a memory booster.
The Chinese have espoused ginseng for centuries, and India promoted Goto kola(called brahmi).
Dont forget the coffee.
