help i need advice!!!?

Question

ok well my grandmother moved in with us about probably the begining of the year. and ugh i seriously cant take it any longer!!! she we have seperate office in the backyard. our property if fairly big. anyways this is where i am right now we have our computers out here and a big screen with some couches a fridge and a microwave. but when she moved in she basically took over the whole place. ive been trying to deal with it but its just getting annoying now. shes my stepdads mom so im not particularly close with her. but attached to the back house is a garage which we have converted to her bedroom but guess what she doesnt sleep there o no she has to sleep on the couch! oh did i mention she has an oxygen tank and she still smokes? and it just reeks out here even though she trys to hide it! u cant hide smoke! ugh and she makes ME do things for her oh and get this! she doesnt shower ever day!!!! so i swear she smells like rotten brocoli and smoke! please get me through this!

oh and when my friends come over we used to love coming back her and hanging out but now how can i when she is always here! i swear she is always on the comuter playing poker!!! and the tv is on 24/7! loud i can here it now! and shes asleep! and she trys to tell me how to do stuff and its like i dotn want to here it! and we used to leave the dogs in here but now she doesnt liek them back here so she kicks them out! i love my lil guys! and she sprayed them with febreeze to get them out of here!!!! that made my irrittated!!! and lets get back to not showering! um hasnt shower in like weeks no kidding. and she walks around here in her pjs! and its not that shes helpless so she needs me to run into the store and buy her meds, toilet paper and ham, thinks its cuz she is embarrassed that she has an oxygen tank and she smells and doesnt take showers. ugh she has even said she was embarrassed. anyways please help need advice!!! im not trying to be mean but its just been on my mind a lot

oh and she is barely 55!

Have you talked to your mom about this? Maybe once you've told her how you feel about the situation, she will discuss it with your stepdad and then they can work things out. It is your house after all, you have rights and your grandmother just happens to move in with all of you. Maybe you guys can work out or compromise a little bit to make everybody more comfortable.

Open a window and put a fan in it for the smoke smell. Then buy a few room fresheners and keep them around. Let her see you do this and maybe she will get the hint.

I dont think you can do anything about her smokiing and the oxygen. She is a grown up..

I can kind of see why she doesnt want to sleep in her room. A garage is a garage no matter how nice you make it look. Maybe the office is a lot nicer.

let your stepdad know how u feel if not go to your mom. I cant take smoke either shes lucky she has not blown the house up being on oxygen. i would make her do somethings for herself its nice to help maybe u should get her a wash basin and some soap and cloth and help her clean off sometimes older persons have trouble in showers or baths dont be mean baby powder helps too. i know i wouldnt let her in my house to smoke with oxgyen better tell your stepdad to pay the homeowners insurance cause he is endangering all your lives. Good luck. if this dont work find a hobby outside of the house or find your grandmother a man lol

For one thing, you need to have a talk with your step-dad about her smoking and all that.

You should also talk to your mom separately... perhaps she can run interference for you. Perhaps she can arrange for the computer to be moved so you don't have to smell her smoke, and limit your exposure to her other nonsense. Particularly if it is interfering with your studies.

Secondly, you might be able to make yourself scarce... hole up in your own room or hang out at your friends' house until curfew. You don't mention your age, but you might be able to land a small job somewhere so you have a legit excuse for not being around there.

There is a fine line you have to walk. You have to show that you are mature enough so they will let you have the kind of freedom to have a job and hang out with your friends. Don't rock that boat.

If I were you I go to my cousin or other family house or maybe I can talk to her.
Maybe you should talk to your grandmother and say the thing that you don't like the way she act.I don't know if it is gonna work just try it if you want to..

wow,this is a tough one .old people can really be a pain.can you ask your mom to help you by asking her husband to talk to his mom.
You can try to find a different place to spend your time ,like your room.
The way you discribe her I don't think she has long to live so just try and bare and stay out of her way until God chooses his way.

It hink you shoudl talkies with your folks. OR gently talk to her about laying of ton the smokes..play the "I want you to live long" card. other than that I wouldnt kno. But do respect ehr as best you can.

pretend that shes not around so you'll not be disturb. likewise, you cannot teach her much as u would like because shes in the age of deteriorating. just be patient. and if you have a softed heart, remember Jesus said, the one who will take care of of the old ones lives in my kingdom...
