To lose fat you have to do cardio 4-6 times a week for average of 45min - running, jogging, elliptical, rope jumping, biking, swimming, hiking etc.
make healthy food choices and eat 5-6 small meals a day - that way your body get enough calories when it needs them and doesnt have any extra left to store in fat reserves (which happens when you eat 3 big meals a day)
never deprive/starve your body because the only thing you lose doing that is water weight and muscle not fat and slow down your metabolism.
drink lots of water.

Okay. Heres the deal. Im 14, and i totally know how you feel. Start drinking atleast 3 glasses/bottles of water a day. Cut out soda as much as you can, if you cant, drink diet soda on a minimum. You dont have to go to the gym and do a crazy work out, all you have to do is get a few routines that work for you. The bicycle crunch in the BEST and you dont even have to buy anything. Just do 100 of those a day, and you'll be doing yourself good. The other thing is portion control. You can eat ANYTHING, yes, I said anything you want, just make sure you eat small portions. And you dont have to starve yourself either. You're actually supposed to eat every two hours. So eat a 100 calorie snack every two hours. Another good tip is keeping a food journal. It really helps. Try to consume only 1500 calories a day rather than 2000. And keep in mind, calories hide in odd places. Did you know that 2 peices of fried chicken, a large soda, and a burrito have less calories than 2 peices of regular pizza? Two peices of pizza has 2000 calories!!! I read a lot about dieting and fitness online. You really learn a lot. Like a glazed doughnut has less calories than a crossant. A great fitness magazine is Shape. I think the more you're informed the better. You just start to make really good choices for yourself without even putting a lot of thought into it. I hope you lose the weight!
Good luck!

hey. im 12 and i no exactly how you feel. i h8 feeling fat. umm
what you can do is first start by drinking lots of water.even when you are not thirsty cuz it will cleanse your system. my dad lost 30lb by replacing some of the carbs he got from starches with sweet potatoes. that might help. umm do some cardio activities you enjoy. i like skateboarding volleyball tennis swimming and yoga. eat several very light means during the day.
breakfast: frosted shredded wheat or some other carb that has lots of fiber, skim milk and some fruit.
snack :small hand full of nuts
lunch: a salad with some cubed chicken or whatever meat you want ( only a serving though) dressed with salt pepper olive oil and lemon juice. and some bread
snack: yogurt and a piece of fruit.
dinner pasta with veggies and some protein
make it a 1:1 ratio of pasta to veggies and protein
and a 2:1 ratio of veggies to protein
and some milk
Dessert: fruit
occasional dark chocolate is OK.
stay away from juices because most of them are made from concentrate.
good luck!

first try to lower your meals to 3 a day no snacks in between, dont eat late at night if you can eat as mant fruits and veggies as possible and for exercise try running in place as fast as you can for 10 sec. then jog in place for 30 sec. you may look a little strange but the pounds will slowly drop off, try to slowly ween yourself off the fast food but dont stop eating it all at onece just slowly back away from it if you eat it a lot!
