I believe that I am saved, but I have become carnal and stopped going to church. I am told that once saved, always saved. I have also been reading stuff that says that there is no such thing as a carnal christian. I need help.

The answer is in your heart. Look there and you will find the truth. Being saved isn't about being perfect. It's about being forgiven. But of course, you would want to improve yourself and become more Christ-like if you truly believe you are saved.

God bless,
=)

Your all presumptions are faulty and devoid of any rationality. No body can be saved and being carnal is a natural human instinct. If you keep a religion out of it,you are just an average and a normal person and what is wrong with that?Live life and leave thoughts like Saved, protected, salvaged etc for others.

As a Catholic and as the Bible says,
I am already saved (Rom. 8:24, Eph. 2:5–8),
but I’m also being saved (1 Cor. 1:8, 2 Cor. 2:15, Phil. 2:12),
and I have the hope that I will be saved (Rom. 5:9–10, 1 Cor. 3:12–15).
Like the apostle Paul I am working out my salvation in fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12), with hopeful confidence in the promises of Christ (Rom. 5:2, 2 Tim. 2:11–13)."

Carnal Christian is a person that invites Christ into his life but he does not trust him to do what God says he will do. He still is in control of his own life.

The carnal Christian theory is designed to take the pressure off the average church goer."Easy Christianity"

It is simple -- go to G-d in prayer and speak to Him as if He is your best-friend. Lean on Him, He is strong enough to handle whatever you have to say. Let Him know the troubles you are having in your life. As far as that statement 'once saved, always saved', I am not sure who told you that; but it does not give us license to begin living however we desire and then upon our death expect to be welcomed by G-d into heaven -- with open arms.

The whole going to church thing, that can be highly overrated, I have a very 'tight' relationship with G-d and do not attend church very often. There are times, I feel it in my heart; like staying at home-- to glorify, worship, praise, sing to, pray to, and just spend time with Him. When I have had a bad day, I 'vent' to Him, knowing that this relationship can survive it. G-d to me, is a friend you can always count on to be supportive, always available; like I said earlier (my best-friend).

Think of the best relationship you have ever had with anyone - the way you and that person would interact with each other- how even when you got mad (he or she was always there, ready to forgive and forget)- listened when you were hurting. And any other traits in that personality that made you and them best-friends. Take all of that and wrap it in the saving grace of G-d (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit)- and hold onto it forever.

G-d's Blessings be on you forever :)

Really, it depends on who you ask... what denomination you are, that is. Some people believe that stuff about going to heaven just for being baptized. Others, the more sensible, in my opinion, say that both faith and works are required. If you're really worried about it, go to your nearest church, or the one you used to go to, and go to confession with the priest there. Ask him what your denomination believes, and if you really will be saved. Who knows, you might just end up back in church on Sundays!

And, Punter, yes. We do have some weirdos among us that get frustrated by the mandatory vow of chastity, and do some things that are against our teaching. Yes, it takes some money to keep these weirdos out of very serious trouble. But, guess what? God loves them even if they have made serious mistakes, and we protect them because of the steps they have taken to get closer to God, steps you obviously haven't.

When in doubt, head back. this is not a question answered easily. I can't tell you if your saved or not. There isn't a test like pregnancy test that can tell you one way or the other (wait ten minutes, if a blue cross shows up your saved, if a pink line shows up, your not saved). My suggestion is to go back to the last place you knew you were saved, and work outward from there.

Hello,

Once saved always saved is called eternal security and is rejected by the majority of Chritians. Some churches believe it. In my view keeping up with Christs teaching doing the works he asks and avoid slipping into sin is a stuggle all your life; in short I'll know after I die and meet him.

It is by faith we say we are saved or made new or born again.
We have not literally died and been born again.
We are saved by faith
We are being saved it is a work in progress
and we will be saved when we are resurreected,
he who endures to the end is saved.
We by faith are made new and in agreement with God's law.
We do not serve sin as we belong to who we serve.
This does not mean we are perfect as we are still in a sinful world in our sinful bodies..
Though we will still have temptations and do things which we do not agree with we will not give ourselves over to sin.
We who claim salvation through the atonement of Jesus understand that we are sinners and the wages of sin is death and that Christ came to this world to pay that penalty of death for us that we will be resurrected in his glory and made new .

well what you need to know is no matter what God loves you no matter which end of the spectrum youre on and never let any person lie to you about Gods love however he may dislike what youre doing in terms of sin but you are his you are loved also what matters more is your relation with God not just the church appearance just like staying in a garage wont make you a cadillac so going to church is important yes but when push comes to shove what matters most is you and him not you and the choir and him pray
