As long as you're making an honest living, who cares where you work? It's not embarrassing to have a job, it's embarrassing not to.

Well I have never worked at WalMart! I would not be embarrassed, a job is better than no job. I would be embarrassed to not have steady employment to care for my family.... However, I may not like a job at WalMart, I would be happy to have an income. Something is better than nothing, and WalMart could be a starting point, not a life long career choice.... God bless****

I'd be more embarrassed to say I wasn't working at all.

Any honest work is work to be proud of doing.

Naturally, anyone with ambition wants to get ahead, but many people have started at the bottom and worked their way up.

Also, for some people certain jobs are just convenient, or they don't have the qualifications and skills to get a better job. This might be because they have spent time caring for a family, or because they did not have as many advantages as another person.

I have the utmost respect for anyone who works a difficult, boring and poorly paid job with dignity and goodwill.

In my book they have nothing to be embarrassed about.

Best wishes and good luck :-)

I work there and I'm proud of it!

It's not about the name of the company...it's the people I work with and the committment I have to doing my job to the best of my ability. I've met some people there that have made a substantial positive impact on my life. I've also learned more about business there than I ever did in my college courses.

Maybe I could get more money somewhere else, but I make more than enough now working with great people everyday, so why would I change?

Some days I feel like I am destined to be a door greeter at Walmart when I reach my golden years.........Actually, I feel like any job is fine for a person that needs to work. Walmart would not be my first choice, by any means, but if I needed a job and that's all that was available, I would swallow my pride and make them an excellent employee.

It depends on who you are and what your situation is. If you are working at Walmart to get through college is completely different than working there as a career. If you work there and you are qualified to work in a higher up job but you like it there more power to you. I myself would only work there if I needed some extra cash if I were a college grad. I don't think it is the greatest place for a career because of some of the things I have been hearing about how they are treating their employees/

Frankly yes, I would be embarassed for myself. I would hope that 7 years of higher education would amount to something more than "price check on yogurt". I appreciate that people work there, and I see nothing wrong with it. Not to come off as a snob but I went to school to educate myself so that I might have a better opportunity than my parents did growing up.

I'd be embarrassed not to be able to pay my bills because I was too much of a snob to work at Walmart.

I don't know why ANYONE would be embarrassed. It's a lot better than having no job because you're embarrassed. Would you rather have your pride or the food on the table and the roof over your head? think about it

As long as you're looking toward the future and planning to get a better job and not work at wal-mart your whole life, there's no need to be embarassed. Almost everyone worked a minimum wage job like that at one point in their lives.
