Just stuff either owned or rented by the production company.
Mark G., The characters were composites of real people. I met a guy that married a Korean woman. Her Father had a picture of himself with the author of the books in one of the camps. There was 25 or 30 people in the picture.
My Doctor, Leon Meir, Cpt. US Army Medical Corps had one exam room with pictures of his Army days. This guy would walk around his office smoking a pipe and singing while wearing a Flowered Shirt. He once told me to not get hurt on a Friday or Sat. nite as he was usually bombed and worthless as a doctor. He would go to a local creek at lunch and practice fly casting. He denied any knowledge of the author of the book. Said he knew no person by the name of Richard Hooker. Dr. Meir was in the 2nd row of the picture. When I confronted him he just smiled and said there was no Richard Hooker, that was just a nom de plume. He was getting ready to perform a vasectomy on me so I did not push the issue. He never would admit it but everytime I see the show I see Dr Meir.

The copters were the type of helicopters used in Korea to med evac wounded men from the front.
The meat wagons (ambulances) are the same type which was used in korea, WW II and Vietnam.
The jeeps are the same type the Army used and were still in use by the Marine Corps in Vietnam.
Although not used for Med evac. in Nam the Marine Corps was still using the Copters in Nam for scouting and Recon duty.
Hope that answers your question.

Some of the show was based on stories told by people who served in MASH units over the years, but it was purely fictitous when it comes to events that actually happened.

The vehicles were genuine military surplus vehicles. The tents, tables, benches, lights, etc, were either military surplus, or really good copies. Were they from an actual MASH unit? I don't know.
