I'm only 15 years old, not overweight, but not exactly in shape. I eat a lot, and even after a big meal, i will be hungry in like another 30 minutes to an hour. is that an effect of my metabolism? If so, how can i help myself not be so hungry most of the day?

Thanks

If you eat a lot, but aren't overweight, then most likely you have a fast metabolism. Rather than trying not to eat as much, you should instead concentrate on doing different physical activities to burn off extra calories. At your age the exercise is more important than counting everything you eat, especially since your metabolism is fast.

Being hungry after a big meal is the effect of eating too much simple carbs. Your insulin level spiked very high and pushes all the carbs that has turned into glucose in your blood, into your cells. When insulin level drops, that's when you feel hungry again, although you have enough food and energy.

Reduce your simple carbs and go for complex carbs.
Eat healthily with lots of veggies, lean meat and complex carbs. Your metabolism rate will increase and there are no hunger pangs too.

I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs and gain better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs for more than a year.

Details such as meals, recipes, walking as an exercise and to shape the body etc etc, are in my blog

Are you a boy or a girl? anyway, it makes sense to get your thyroid checked out, which needs a visit to the doctor and a few blood tests. Ask your parents for help.
