No, can't say anyone ever has, but a few have threatened me in chat rooms before, though nothing ever came of it. Even if they had the ability, my house is pretty well sealed so I doubt it would do anything.

To comment, and maybe clarify a few things from previous answers, Wicca and witchcraft are not synonymous terms. Not all witches are Wiccan, as witchcraft is a form of practicing magic that could really be used by anyone of any religion or of no religion at all. Witchcraft really has not specific religious context. At the same time, not all Wiccans are witches. The use of witchcraft is not a requirement of the religion. I am Wiccan, but I do not practice witchcraft.

To add to this, not all Wiccans follow the Wiccan Rede. The rede is not a rule, it is a guide. It was also not an original part of Wicca, it was something that was written and added to Wicca by Doreen Valiente in the 1960's. The term "harm none" did appear in some material by Gerald Gardner, but it was really in the context of other Wiccans or members of one's own coven. Many traditional Wiccans, such as those from Gardnerian or Alexandrain Traditions, do not subscribe to the rede, or rather they view it as it was meant, as a guide and not an absolute rule.

Also, voodoo is not bad witchcraft, it should not be blamed for bad things, and not all darker forms of witchcraft is voodoo. Voodoo, or Vodou, is a very misunderstood religious belief, probobly moreso than even Wicca. It is a system of faith, spirituality, and ritual practices; based on the combination of African Orisha fatih with Catholicism. Most of what people think is voodoo is really only superstition about the belief.

I've never been sure. But I was pretty immature back then and it seems like when we broke up, my first lover put the same curse on me that Thomas Rhymer got from the Faerie Queen.

I'd say that not being able to lie to women has been pretty harmful. Especially when the question is, "Does this outfit make me look fat?"

On the other hand, answering, "Well...Yeah." When the question is "All you want is sex, isn't it?" is a real timesaver. I've even been pleasantly surprised a couple times when the woman's response to that answer was, "Well, let's go then."

Never been hurt by an actual witch. I was once badly traumatized by a man using (or maybe being used by) considerable dark power (and I know that sounds melodramatic but it's the only phrase I could think of.) But I don't think any tradition of witches would claim him.

no all the ones i know are rather fantastic, super morals, beautiful attitudes!
any "bad" ones are usually either youngsters wandering about in lord of the rings cloaks who dont have a clue what they're doing, or negative people who call themselves witches in order just to give the rest of us a bad name.

blessed be

Morgana, again, you're not going to get any REAL answers to this question. Only a bunch of stereotyped answers, or dumb answers, or, like me, supportive answers. But you GO, girl. We ARE getting through to a FEW of them and if we can only convince ONE that we're just regular people just like they are, then we will have acheived some success. Morgana, you ROCK *hugs*

Well, we wouldn't know, would we? I mean, if a spell was effective, it would be chalked up to bad luck. But one witch was rude to me and hurt me, I suppose unintentionally. I asked her if she knew Steve, who had only died a few days ago. I showed her the picture of him in my wallet and she exclaimed, "Oh yeah, Goofy Steve!"

Nope. Never hurt me. Though once I had a friend preform a good luck spell on a charm bracelet before I had to give a presentation. I got an A.

a genuine wiccan/witch would not breach the code to 'do no harm'. the darker forms of the occult would be the ones who would attempt that. the wiccan belief system is very respectful of all life forms in nature

No, but in Wicca they would cease to be a witch if they committed such acts, they would become a sorceress.
