Why do some Christian religions prohibit their members from doing Yoga, since it is a form of exercise that seems to be catching up with people nowadays? Any religious significance?
Only Christian groups who don't practice Yoga need to answer.

The religious significance is that the exercises are geared to bring one to a sense of mental peace, and focus on the physical. The practice is founded upon the techniques of Eastern Mysticism/Hinduism, and therefore becomes a ritualistic practice of idolatry among Christians.
The worship and practices of other religions is unacceptable to God. It was often for those very things that the Jews came under MUCH hardship and judgment from God in the Old Testament.

I am an Atheist but I used to be a believer. I can tell you why. Because these people are ignorant about so many things. They are afraid to listen to, watch or read about anything that their ministers/priests tell them is wrong. They are preached to that the devil can creep into the mind and heart if they are not very careful. All they know is that people in other countries who are not xtians also happen to practice yoga. So they decide that it is wrong without actually trying to learn about it.

Yoga is basically a Hindu philosophy. In Christianity, we are taught to find peace by praying to God while in Yoga, you will find peace by doing meditation and the yoga techniques.

I've never even heard of this...maybe it's a Protestant thing (I'm Catholic, and trust me, the Pope doesn't care if you do Yoga. He's focusing on living, because I don't know how much longer he's going to be doing it.)
